January 1st is around the corner, along with an end to my daily posts, at least for now.
Dementia is so debilitating and Hubby needs more of my time.

Eric Cousineau from Sherwood Park, Canada

They look a bit chilly here Judy as the pale morning light has yet to burn off the morning dampness! The period costumes are great! Nicely captured! ;-)

@Eric Cousineau: They were definitely chilly. It was a cold weekend and they seemed pretty well prepared.

Shiva from Berwick, Canada

Great capture - Judy ------ I prefer my kitchen - mostly because its so cozy warm -- and there is must be a cold morning.
\Kindest regards Monika

@Shiva: Me too ... and yes, it was a cold morning!

don from United States

That fire looks to tiny to keep these folks warm. A very strong situation shot!

7 Mar 2014 3:42pm

@don: It was surprising how much heat came from the white coals in the pit. ;D

Ruthiebear from Titusville, NJ, United States

I like the atmosphere you have captured here.

Now I KNOW I wouldn't cook out there!

@B. Thomas: Ha, ha ... I didn't expect you'd be tempted. <grin>

A great capture of the ladies huddling around the stove of yore!!

Love the layers of clothing and the comfort of sitting around the fire! Great scene and photo, Judy!

8 Mar 2014 12:23am

@RBL: Thanks, Ruthie ... I think it helps that I used a layer to mute the colors a bit, plus added a hint of haze.

Amazing that they could cook with those long skirts.

10 Mar 2014 8:33pm

@Anita: Thinking about that, the cooking, washing clothes by hand, no running water and no indoor plumbing. Yikes!
