...heading for Lewes, Delaware.
I think there's too much weight to starboard; whatcha think?

January 1st is around the corner, along with an end to my daily posts, at least for now.
Dementia is so debilitating and Hubby needs more of my time.

Doug from Burnham-on-Sea, United Kingdom

Lovely view Judy but I'd stand on the port side :-))

7 Nov 2013 7:21am

@Doug: You might be wise to do that, Doug! ;D

BiLL from Belfast, United Kingdom

I can feel the heat :)

7 Nov 2013 8:00am

@BiLL: Yes, the sun was hot and this was June 3, I think.

Curly from South Shields, United Kingdom

Nice shot of that river mouth, and we don't see too many old fashioned car ferries these days!

7 Nov 2013 8:39am

@Curly: What do they use instead of car ferries, Curly?

grouser from Ludlow, United Kingdom

Great view and point. After working out my left and right that seems like sound advice from Doug :)

7 Nov 2013 10:44am

@grouser: Facing aft, I had to double check myself when I typed the text. <grin>

Mhelene from Villiers-sur-Marne, France

Beautiful composition !

7 Nov 2013 10:52am

tyan from Singapore, Singapore

Wow.And it looked like the ship is leaning to the left! ;)

7 Nov 2013 12:36pm

@tyan: You're right and since that is the stern of the ferry, left is the starboard side. ;D

Frances Gaffey from Massachusetts, United States

I don't think I would want to leave a wonderful place like Cape May Judy. Great shot of the boat turning ( I think).

7 Nov 2013 12:49pm

@Frances Gaffey: Well, there's more coastline down the line as well. ;D I believe the ferry turns and backs into its slip upon arrival.

Eric Cousineau from Sherwood Park, Canada

I love this composition Judy! It has a very wistful feel to it! ;-)

7 Nov 2013 2:07pm

@Eric Cousineau: Yes, like we're heading out to sea, instead of a short ride to another port.

Footloose Ferret from Central Florida, United States

Great shot.

franz from Baden, Austria

looks like you can't get enough of "cruises" ... ;-)))

7 Nov 2013 4:42pm

@franz: We're always drawn to the water, no matter where we go. ;D

Don from Spokane, United States

A fine "farewell" shot of the last port of call. Nice shot.

7 Nov 2013 5:05pm

@Don: Thanks, Don.

Steven from Chicagoland, United States

An excellent view back with great colors in Old Glory! I see someone is on his way to installing some A/C units. :-)

7 Nov 2013 6:41pm

@Steven: I believe you're correct! ;D

Ruthiebear from Titusville, NJ, United States

Great viewpoint - lovely light and scene, but it does look like it is leaning a bit.

I always love a great ferry ride. Especially on a sunny day like this. I think you're right. They needed to even out those cars.

7 Nov 2013 7:13pm

@Paleblue Photography: Thanks, PP ... sorry, I don't know what name to use.

aaanouel from Heredia, Costa Rica

The vehicles can be bulky but not that heavy, so it's OK!

Shiva from Berwick, Canada

I love ferry rides, Judy - lived 25 yrs on Prince Edward Island - ferry rides in sunshine and in storms ....... but I always enjoyed it.
Kindest regards Monika

7 Nov 2013 11:29pm

@Shiva: Ohh, lucky you to have lived on PEI for 25 years. We love that little island ... the GEM of the Maritimes. I am sure you have seen some rough water on those ferries!!!

Rick from Toronto, Canada

I like your commanding view here, Judy.

Devi from Chennai, India

Yes with all those vehicles !!! Lovely fel here :0

Curly from South Shields, United Kingdom

Tunnels under the rivers and tunnels under the North Sea too!

8 Nov 2013 2:25pm

@Curly: Ohhh, I see what you mean. There are a few tunnels, but not many over here.

RBL from Oxford, United States

Beautiful view, I can smell the salty air! Out of all the NJ shore points; we've never visited Cape May; although Long Beach Island is my favorite (it got devastated by Sandy last year). :)

8 Nov 2013 7:13pm

@RBL: I'm happy you know that smell of the "salty air" ... it is wonderful!
Yes, LBI took a really bad hit from Sandy.
Growing up in CT and living there for 50 years, we know too well the devastation of hurricanes. Our location in FL was a calculated one in those terms.
