Another buggy...

Posted by
Judy aka L@dybug (Brooksville, FL, United States) on 19 October 2013 in Transportation and Portfolio.

...and the horse seems to be saying, "Are you taking MY picture?"

This might look like a duplicate, but it isn't.
In the earlier one both the horse and the buggy are different.
That's the same willow tree as in yesterday's image.

January 1st is around the corner, along with an end to my daily posts, at least for now.
Dementia is so debilitating and Hubby needs more of my time.

I love this beautiful looking horse and wonder when we will all be going back to this sort of transportation. Nice image Judy

@Doug: You have a point there, Doug ... maybe it'll be sooner than later!

I got a couple of photos similar to this one but not as sharp as yours, Judy.

19 Oct 2013 12:22pm

@BiLL: Oh, Bill, I fully understand. I've had buggy shots in the past that were not at all usable. This time with my trusty bridge camera, I managed better shots of them.

Lai Chan See from Singapore, Singapore

This is certainly a nicer ride than in present day taxis.

@Lai Chan See: I agree, thanks, Chan See!

Barbara from Florida, United States

Fascinating capture that gives us a view into their lifestyle. Returning to you previous post for comparison shows their uniform style of buggy. They are very well maintained and of course meet the requirements of the road with reflectors. I like this shot as the horse has a real curiosity of you, looking closely the driver appears to be just as curious but staying slighting hidden. Thank you for sharing these images.

@Barbara: Thank you so much, Barb, for your extensive comment. Yes, the buggies are all very similar in a given Amish area, but vary in other areas and/or states. I was surprised to see the horse's focus on me when I saw this on the computer. Likewise, I was surprised to see the man in the buggy, though cut in two by the frame. I never saw him as he 'flew' by us.

Don from Spokane, United States

A fine shot of this passing buggy. Your supposed thoughts of the horse seem right on to me.

@Don: Thanks, Don ... your comment brings a smile to my face! ;D

Frances from Massachusetts, United States

A real stunner Judy! I think this has to be the best out of the Amish series. The horse is captured brilliantly and the landscape in the background is lovely. *****stars for me.

@Frances: Thank you so much, Frances. Driving toward them and them toward you, the speed is difficult to catch at times. My trusty bridge camera did a better job than I've ever done w/my DSLR ... not sure what that says about me, but... <grin> (Vic. Catalonia) from CAT. New European State, Poland

... and another excellent image. Very beautiful !

Very good capture of movement! The horse is almost smiling! IT knew you wanted IT to look at its best!
I also like the rustic background!

Wonderful shot with the horse's flowing tail and mane!

@RBL: Thanks so much, Ruthie ... you of all people know how they're supposed to look. ;D

franz from Baden, Austria

he, he ... at least you didn't have to blur his face, too !!!
i like the horse's "smile" and powerful stance ...

@franz: No, I didn't feel compelled to "blur his smiling face". ;D
