Typical Amish farm...

The farmhouse seems to have grown as their family did.

I read as time allows, and greatly appreciate your comments.*

Sadly, I think I will have to stop my daily postings by the first of the year.

Shiva from Berwick, Canada

As above - its nearly a little village in itself - one addition here - another little shed there - and it can go on - enough space is there !!! Great shot - have a nice weekend and kindest regards Monika
I hope you will find nice apples.

5 Oct 2013 10:34am

@Shiva: Thank you, Monika ... and you're right, it is nearly a village of its own.
Mike has his second cataract surgery Tuesday; after that I may shop for some good apples! ;D

franz from Baden, Austria

looks just like an "ordinary" farm, but for the lack of machinery !

5 Oct 2013 2:17pm

@franz: I think that's what makes it unique ... no old trucks hangin' around. ;D

Don from Spokane, United States

An amazingly large Amish farm. The industrial bent of the Amish shows in this huge complex of farm buildings. Excellent image.

@Don: Thank you, Don; I appreciate your words.

A family compound - I love that there are no wires in the landscape.

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

Clean, sober lines! No decorations! Well...not the kind of scenery for me....but...they seem to enjoy their life as it is!

6 Oct 2013 11:43am

@Japanalia: You are right; no decorations and no trucks or electrical equipment. They have an incredible work ethic, which I admire.
