The beginning...

Posted by
Judy aka L@dybug (Brooksville, FL, United States) on 28 July 2013 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio.

...of a series on our month-long stay in the Salzkammergut (Austria), fifteen years ago.
Built in the 16th century, this private home has a shop on the first floor and living quarters on the next two; this is where we stayed.
I remember opening one of those second floor side windows soon after arriving, and hearing a young child on the sidewalk below, babbling away in German.
"How do they learn German so young?" I thought. ... Silly me!
Photos were scanned and therefore not the best quality, but ohhh, the wonderful memories.

A smile is the light in the window of your face
which tells people that your heart is at home.

Sunday blessings!

January 1st is around the corner, along with an end to my daily posts, at least for now.
Dementia is so debilitating and Hubby needs more of my time.

I love the ivy hugging the house. I'm curious about the telephone looking contraption there in the foreground?

28 Jul 2013 8:04pm

@Sharon Pleasants: You know, I never asked about that 'box' ... I can only think it was their street telephone back then.
