This one's for you, John...

Posted by
Judy aka L@dybug (Brooksville, FL, United States) on 17 June 2012 in Architecture and Portfolio.

...this was posted by my friend, John Wilson on Aug. 8, 2010. It was taken in Connecticut, while on his eastern trip.
I post it again, John, in your memory. It's been a year since you moved on; I miss you and your work!

His original post is here, and also see this special page that was created in his honor - Monterey John - Aminus3 Spotlight Photographer

Sunday blessings...

January 1st is around the corner, along with an end to my daily posts, at least for now.
Dementia is so debilitating and Hubby needs more of my time.

Thanks for your tribute to John. I've now visited his site and am impressed by his work. I have photographed in the Monterey area, but not as early in the morning. (When visiting my daughter, I have to drive an hour south to get here.) Now my goal is to be in these places at dawn. And John has further inspired me to capture the beautiful light.

@Susan Rose: Thank you, Susan, for your visit to John's site ... he was a friend to sooo many here on Am3, and I shared this post with his son, Will, and young granddaughter, Ava. ... I'm happy to know you may have the opportunity to "capture the beautiful light" yourself.

Wonderful place, beautiful framing light and colors as well.

God bless his soul, may he rest in peace

John was a great guy, so easy to get along with and so willing to take part in private contacts. Lovely tribute to him, a man who was always seeking the light!

@Curly: Thank you, Curly ... John connected with so many of us on so many levels. We had many private 'conversations' about levels, perspectives, and always the light!

Joyce from Montana, United States

Hi, I knew a John Wilson who passed away last year, and I wonder if this was him. I had not seen him since Jr. High School however, in Los Angeles. The contact photo looks like it could be him. He was sweet, and he asked me to go steady. His father owned The Big Donut, a donut drive through in Inglewood. :-D

@Joyce: I wonder if it could be the same man. You could search for Will Wilson on FB (his son) and ask where he went to school. Glad you had a trip down memory lane!

A fine tribute, Judy, in memory of our friend John Wilson. An admired and well respected photographer among everyone's life he touch. John, you are missed by many.
