January 1st is around the corner, along with an end to my daily posts, at least for now.
Dementia is so debilitating and Hubby needs more of my time.

Curly from South Shields, United Kingdom

Just noticing the colour aberrations around the highlight edges, sometimes stopping the lens down a bit more can help to avoid them when the light is very contrasty.

5 Apr 2012 9:23am

@Curly: Thanks, Curly ... I appreciate your suggestion. This was a standard, somewhat flat image, so I ran the single image through Photomatix and played with options there.

Curly from South Shields, United Kingdom

Nothing wrong at all with the processing, the problem is a characteristic of the lens under contrasty lighting. It manifests itself with either purple-green fringeing or red-cyan fringeing on either the high contrasts edges or shadowy edges.
You will notice it on the sides of the window and door frames, and the leaf edges on the right hand side and on the leaf edges on the left hand side.
I have similar problems with my zoom lens around the edges.
By stopping down (not using the lens "wide open") the problem decreases.

5 Apr 2012 4:57pm

@Curly: Back again: I'm thinking either my monitor or my aging eyes are at fault here, as I cannot see the "fringeing" you see. I also wonder if you are referring to multiple images you take for HDR, vs. processing a single image. I'm still open for suggestions.
