Down in the valley...

Posted by
Judy aka L@dybug (Brooksville, FL, United States) on 15 October 2011 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

Down in the valley, valley so low
Hang your head over, hear the wind blow
Hear the wind blow, dear, hear the wind blow
Hang your head over, hear the wind blow.

This is just east of Hiawassee, Georgia.

Beautiful, Judy! This view is fantastic! What an amazing shot!! Where is this?

15 Oct 2011 11:26am

@Sandy Weston: Thanks, Sandy ... and your comment prompted me to add the location ... "just east of Hiawassee, Georgia."

B. Thomas from Arlington, Texas, United States

That's an old song from way back, but it's perfect for this lovely landscape. This looks like s scene from somewhere along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

@B. Thomas: I've since added the location ... it's just east of Hiawassee, on the GA/NC border.

Maria from California, United States

I was just going to praise you on the verses from the caption, when I read the comment just above mine :))
so no praise regarding that, but I love the scenery, too, Judy...green hills, and grass, and trees...the fence...everything it's so beautiful...so you get 5 stars for that! :)

15 Oct 2011 5:14pm

@Maria: Ha, ha ... that's funny ... you're not old enough to remember the song, obviously! The tune popped into my head as I was posting, so I went with it! ;D ... Thank you for your votes!

Kenneth from Kanata, Canada

@Twojays: Thank you, Joyce.

Viewfinder from Bradenton, FL, United States

I feel like maybe I've been to this place; is it inside a park? Your lyrics and this photo fit like hand in glove. Bravo, Judy!

16 Oct 2011 1:20am

@Viewfinder: No, Glenn, it isn't inside a park. It is at a pull-off somewhere along Rt. 2/76 before you head south on 197. I wish I could pinpoint it more closely.

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

Beautiful view! And the litle poem is so suitable for the mood in the image!

@Japanalia: FYI: these are the words of an old, old song. If you would like to hear a rendition, go to this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMJGuaNbXJ4
