...Pleasure Island in Downtown Disney.

SONY DSLR-A100 1/80 second F/9.0 ISO 100 27 mm (35mm equiv.)

January 1st is around the corner, along with an end to my daily posts, at least for now.
Dementia is so debilitating and Hubby needs more of my time.

Twojays from South Central Montana, United States

I haven't been to Disneyland since I was a teen, and that was the first one, Orange County. I saw Walt Disney strolling around in shorts enjoying us all as we danced the polka at a pavilion on Date Nite (fridays). Another era. A perfect memory.

@Twojays: What a wonderful memory of Walt Disney himself. I fear he is turning over in his grave knowing the exorbitant prices charged today for what he created to be a family-friendly park! ;(

Ralph Jones from Detroit, United States

Excellent tone in this and I love the wide angle.

franz from Baden, Austria

amazing how "natural" a completely artificial town can look! very well composed, and i like the soft colors and the fact that i can see individual droplets on the fountain!

15 Sep 2011 6:34pm

@franz: thanks, Franz ... the overcast skies helped soften the light and the colors. ;D

Denny Jump Photo from Easton, PA, United States

Oh please don't show this to my Barbara ...she will want to go! Seriously this is perfect Judy I love this ;-)

15 Sep 2011 7:12pm

@Denny Jump Photo: It's a fun place to visit w/o the exorbitant park entry fees! ;D

Calusarus from St Sorlin en Valloire, France

Very nice capture

Sandy Weston from Maine, United States

Wow....things have changed since I went to DisneyWorld...many years ago around 26 years ago. I never got to take my two youngest girls...times got hard and with all the kids we never could afford it. They missed out bigtime, I regret not doing it :(
I really like this serene shot, Judy :)

15 Sep 2011 8:31pm

@Sandy Weston: We took our three in 1974 (the dark ages), but this part is not part of the interior park and has no entry fee, thank goodness. Walt Disney has to be hurting for what they charge now. ;(

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

A most inviting view! (but a no-go for us here...if you don't ride the many things - which I'd never do!- and if you don't have pocketsfull of money to spend in the as many shops....what's the use to go?! Nothing is natural, at least not at Japan Disneywaord and Disney Sea!)

16 Sep 2011 9:39am

@Japanalia: This is not a part of the internal Disneyworld ... anyone can park (free) and walk around the island looking at the sights. We enjoyed a delicious, light lunch at an Irish Pub ... to be shown later, and I took a ride, which you will also see, for photos.
