Here she comes...

...the moon rising behind a tree on March 18th - 7:17--7:20pm.

January 1st is around the corner, along with an end to my daily posts, at least for now.
Dementia is so debilitating and Hubby needs more of my time.

Monterey John from Hollister, CA, United States

Nice sequence. I'm jealous, the weather has been miserable here.

23 Mar 2011 5:16am

@Monterey John: We were fortunate to have clear skies, but there is no place close that offers a clear horizon.

Nina from Hamburg, Germany

beautifully done, great photos of this wonderful moment

@Nina: Thank you, Nina.

Franz from Baden, Austria

the BIG moon rising ... like this collage! a 1-in-20-years chance that you took here!

23 Mar 2011 10:36am

@Franz: Here in Florida, the moon didn't seem especially large, but what do I know. ;D

Mhelene from Paris, France

Great scenario !

23 Mar 2011 11:15am

@Mhelene: Thank you!

Eric Cousineau from Sherwood Park, Canada

Nice collage Judy! We missed the chance to see the moon at it's closest point due to snow..... ;-)

23 Mar 2011 12:40pm

@Eric Cousineau: We don't see anything near the horizon from the house, so this was a way of watching it climb, and it was rather fast too.

Viewfinder from Bradenton, FL, United States

It was sort of orange on our horizon, but blocked by trees and I didn't try a shot. Glad you got these - really nice mix.

23 Mar 2011 2:09pm

@Viewfinder: These shots were taken on Friday, the 18th, when the moon rose nearly two hours before sunset, so it was a very different shot than on Saturday. Tomorrow's shot will show a 'cheesy' color of the moon. ;D

Carol from United States
