A pensive moment...

...and rather appropriate for a Sunday morning. These dedicated men, women and children - often, whole families,
take this experience very seriously, and many assume a character for the entire weekend.

#4 of 5, taken in the camps.

January 1st is around the corner, along with an end to my daily posts, at least for now.
Dementia is so debilitating and Hubby needs more of my time.

Franz from Baden, Austria

beautifully composed frame! love the posture of the "veteran" amidst the white tents!

30 Jan 2011 12:40pm

@Franz: Thank you very much, Franz.

Mhelene from Paris, France

very beautiful composition with this man and the white pieces of tents !

30 Jan 2011 1:14pm

@Mhelene: He stood like this for some time ... I wondered if he was praying.

Viewfinder from Bradenton, FL, United States

To immerse the self in something like this must be quite an experience in living history first hand. Very nice capture of this reflective moment. Very right for a Sunday.

30 Jan 2011 2:58pm

@Viewfinder: Thank you, Glenn. I really wondered if he was pondering ... or praying.

L'explorateur from Vancouver, Canada

It's like a journey to the past. Very nice to see how they were dressed. How many people are involved in this Reenactment? Have a nice Sunday!

30 Jan 2011 5:19pm

@L'explorateur: It truly is a "journey to the past." There are a lot more photos of their outfits that you will see if you follow the series. It was announced that there were over 1,000 people involved this year, one of the largest in FL.

Magda from Vancouver, Canada

very interesting series....

30 Jan 2011 6:47pm

@Magda: thanks, Magda.

Eric Cousineau from Sherwood Park, Canada

Yes, these are living plays in which the actors take their roles very seriously! Nicely captured Judy! ;-)

30 Jan 2011 8:54pm

@Eric Cousineau: Thank you, Eric. I'd like to take part, but don't have the long-term dedication that it takes, or the tenacity to do it in all kinds of weather ... including heat!

SOUL AFLAME from The bosom of nature Canada &, United Kingdom

A great and very emotion packed frame that captures the moment perfectly, Judy.

31 Jan 2011 4:28am

@SOUL AFLAME: Thank you, Paul.

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

Very special capture! the man might be thinking, praying,rehearsing or just trying to get into the mood of his character. (I hope he was NOT checking his cellphone!)

31 Jan 2011 10:43am

@Japanalia: Thank you! And no ... no phone was present, as I watched him for a while. ;D

B. Thomas from Arlington, Texas, United States
