Union & Stars 'n Bars Flags

Posted by
Judy aka L@dybug (Brooksville, FL, United States) on 26 January 2011 in Documentary & Street and Portfolio.

Two flags blowing in the breeze before the start of the 31st Annual Brooksville Raid, a Civil War Reenactment. It is held on the large Sand Hill Boy Scout Reservation in Spring Hill, FL, about five miles from our home.

Many of these are held in Florida; here is their spring roster.

January 1st is around the corner, along with an end to my daily posts, at least for now.
Dementia is so debilitating and Hubby needs more of my time.

Hi Judy! I am very looking forward to all of your images about this reenactment. I already learned so much just looking up at the meaning of the Stars and Bars flag! Seeing them blowing together now has a whole meaning to me too. Very very nice shot. Thanks!

@L'explorateur: Thank you very much for your kind comment. I do think you are an 'explorer'! ;D

the South will rise again

26 Jan 2011 11:16pm

@john4jack: The South has been so invaded by northerners, that it's neat to see their flags fly together. Of course one sort of overpowers the other. <grin>

Tim from Ft. Worth, United States

nicely captured :) not a lot of people recognize the national standard of the confederacy so your shot is informative, too :)

@Tim: Thanks, Tim ... and it's interesting to see the various flags that were used back in those days.
