My best friend...

Posted by
Judy aka L@dybug (Brooksville, FL, United States) on 18 May 2009 in Abstract & Conceptual and Portfolio.

We should be back at home now, after a very full graduation weekend in Washington, D.C.
if I don't get to update this pre-posted text, know we're sleeping in this morning and don't have to go to work today, but I'll be chomping at the bit to go through the weekend's photos.

SONY DSLR-A100 1/80 second F/2.8 ISO 400 150 mm (35mm equiv.)

January 1st is around the corner, along with an end to my daily posts, at least for now.
Dementia is so debilitating and Hubby needs more of my time.

Here I thought you were talking about me.....I'm kidding. I love this shot Judy. Just shows how artistic you are and what an eye for a picture. You are probably exhausted, but in a good way. Take care and get some rest.

18 May 2009 5:56am

@Marion: Of course I was! <grin>
I am still exhausted and should be dressing for work (and it's Wednesday morning as I reply).

Leena from Joensuu, Finland

But I don`t believe you, you certainly is many better friends than a camera :) Or did you mean something else, perhaps my first thought was not quite right ;)

We are waiting, but take your time, Judy!

18 May 2009 6:13am

@Leena: Mike is my number one best friend ... with camera in hand, I have many other best friends! *smile*

@Magda: Thanks, Magda ... and of course Mike is #1 on the 'best friends' list ... but the camera runs a close 2nd. <grin>

Susan from Fort Lauderdale, FL, United States

Great shot..love the way you composed it, but i have to say there is something missing....like the body of the camera, that helps this lens to be "your best friend". (which I totally agree with, by the way!!)
Hope you had a wonderful time in DC....

18 May 2009 3:19pm

@Susan: Thanks, and I'm giggling ... as the body was 'engaged' with the 100mm in order to get the shot.

Viewfinder from Bradenton, FL, United States

I like that you gave your friend a pretty flower.

Bookfool from Mississippi, United States

The 18-200 is your favorite or just photography in general? Am I complicating the theme? Hope you had a good trip. Still thinking of you.

18 May 2009 9:36pm

@Bookfool: The 18-200 is my steady companion for my photography ... therefore the best friend when 'shooting'. :D

Chris from South Jersey, United States

very nice shot, especially the way you combined man made and God made things!!! but I know that Mike is really your best friend!!!

19 May 2009 12:10am

@Chris: Thanks, Chris ... the pillow was a gift from a friend, made from really old ticking, the flower made by God, and then the lens. Mike is of course, my best friend ... and sooooooo much more! xo

Susan from Fort Lauderdale, FL, United States

Ya know, it never even occurred to me that the body was being used to take the shot!!!! See, I was pretty braindead from my whole body problem....but I think my brain is now back in order!!!

20 May 2009 2:16pm

@Susan: I'm happy to hear you are feeling better ... maybe your need for the meds is reduced!

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

You show your best friend in a very attractive way, even treated it with a flower......How nice of you, Judy! And how much these "friends" do for us......practically, my Sony takes the shots for me 'cause I don't seem to do anything else! Hahahahahaha!!!!!!

21 May 2009 1:39am

@Japanalia: I'm happy you are so thrilled with your Sony ... you've got a winner there!
