The Dove #2 of 4

Maundy Thursday ... this window at our church moves me.

Leviticus 5:7
If he cannot afford a lamb, he is to bring two doves or two young pigeons to the LORD as a penalty for his sin—one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering.

January 1st is around the corner, along with an end to my daily posts, at least for now.
Dementia is so debilitating and Hubby needs more of my time.

EYES WIDE SHUT from The library of my soul, United Kingdom

It's the workmanship that always amazes me, the world over when I see such delicate and ornate church windows. The beauty as the light shines through never fails to amaze and impress. Nicely observed, Judy

Intricate design, magnificent creation to accomplish the message. Stained glass and their meaning or even just their design is a quiet passion of mine. This one is remarkable.

@Barbara: Thank you, Barb ... I appreciate your comment.

@Fliss: This is in our church, Fliss, however the church is only 27 years old.

I am so glad you are showing off your church's beautiful stained glass windows; I'm partial to such things. This one is very striking.

@Viewfinder: Thank you, Glenn. Saturday I'll show you a composite of the three.

i like the close up very much,I was reading the Gospel accounts of Jesus' death and resurrection and I am thankful once again for the Cross, though there is an element of suffering and loneliness in His experience on the Cross, but Jesus gave witness to His faith in the presence, the blessing and the victory of God through His suffering.Blessed Easter Weekend, dear Judy nana.

ps:the three strokes thingy--the word itself means ''shape''.The characters before it merely describe how the shape is like,so if it can be translated into English,it becomes like 'Triangular shape, rectangular shape...':)

9 Apr 2009 1:50pm

@tyan: Thank you, Tyan, for your witness, especially during this Holy Week when we all reflect on what Jesus gave for each one of us. Thankfully we have His promises to lean on, and I wish you and yours the same, a most blessed Easter weekend, dear friend.

PS: Thanks for the 'three strokes thingy' explanation! :D
