Church portrait...

Posted by
Judy aka L@dybug (Brooksville, FL, United States) on 1 March 2009 in People & Portrait and Portfolio.

1981 was the year Susan moved from college to New York City's upper east side; we had some trips to visit her and got to see her at work at Bloomingdale's. David graduated from HS, went into the USN and Curt was relegated to the status of 'only child', which he did not like. ... (The blouse I'm wearing in this photo was another one of my sewing projects.)

January 1st is around the corner, along with an end to my daily posts, at least for now.
Dementia is so debilitating and Hubby needs more of my time.

LOVELY!!!! Soooooo LOVELY!!! You both look smashingly attractive! Such smiling faces bring warmth in my heart and you make me smile, too!

@Japanalia: Thank you, Gabriela ... if only we still looked that young! <grin>

Marion from Nanaimo, BC, Canada

Such a beautiful couple. Love the blouse Judy. You certainly were/are an expert seamstress.

1 Mar 2009 6:17am

@Marion: Sewing was my passion before computers and now cameras! :D

Leena from Joensuu, Finland

I agree with other comments by my full heart, Judy!
You simply seems to be happy, we can see it from your face and it so good to see.
I remember too, when our two older left home and the youngest one was "the only child", I was all the time asking from her something and taking care about her until she said:" Mom, I am not suffering :)

Happy Sunday to both of you!

1 Mar 2009 7:28am

@Leena: Thank you, Leena, for your comment. Our youngest, however, was not "a happy camper" as they say.
He truly missed his brother and sister and was sad.

Betty from New Jersey, United States

Barbara from Florida, United States

Such a happy portrait. You are like the princess and Mike the Prince.
Most importantly I can read it in your eyes and smiles that inner happiness and strength the two of you have that made it to 50 years.
I like the neckline on your blouse. Well done, Judy.

1 Mar 2009 2:06pm

@Barbara: I don't know about the "princess and prince" but we were/are certainly that for each other! :D
We've invested a lot in each other over the many years ... and pray each day for yet one more.
Thanks on the blouse!

EYES WIDE SHUT from United Kingdom

I remember 1981 so well, serving in her Majesty's Royal Police force based in Hendon. My nightclub days, when life was carefree and dominated by my own selfish needs. Music was stillperformed by real musicians and people who could sing without being put through computers, those were the days!

Ah the memories..... Neat shot, Judy

@EYES WIDE SHUT: I'm having problems; all of my comments are coming up as 'read' and the links to reply isn't working. I've had to go to 'All comments' and reply from there ... is it me?

I can see that 1981 was a good year for you also! You're right, "Ah the memories...".

Wonderful memories accompany this image. What a pleasure for us that you share these with us.

I graduated from high school in 1981.

3 Mar 2009 12:54am

@Laurie: Thanks, Laurie ...... you're the same age then, as our son, who died 3/22/08. :(
His little daughter's coming to visit in ten days.

Bookfool from Mississippi, United States

That's so cute! You guys have great smiles. Our portraits always looked a little pinched and I don't think we've even had one made since the 17-year-old was 2.

3 Mar 2009 2:11am

@Bookfool: Ohhhhh, that's not fun ... when you get more than a couple of people in the shot, it can be tricky! :D
