I love cobalt blue glass, but I couldn't justify the price of this.

PS: Thank you to everyone for yesterday's comments. Some oral surgery had me a bit 'under the weather'.

Judy, that is an expensive blue! Nice composition - I will have to introduce you to my mother-in-law, she loves blue vases and has had blue carpet for 25 years - until we finally talked her into going with an earth tone carpet this last year!

@Scott Schilling: Thanks, Scott ... I LOVE blues, but use them as accents! :D

Betty from New Jersey, United States

At least you have a beautiful photo of it! Well done. Hope you are feeling better!

@Betty: Thanks, Betty ... glad you liked the blue. I am feeling better - still liquid diet, but that's okay!

Viewfinder from Bradenton, FL, United States

Hope you are bouncing back from the oral surgery you had. This is a beautiful bottle. It is pricey, but still beautiful. A picture like this is the next best thing. Please pray for Bella today.

31 Jan 2009 12:47pm

@Viewfinder: I'm glad to have the picture too, and I have lots of other blue things. :D

We will definitely pray for Bella; be assured of that..... !

Michael Skorulski from Cigel, Slovakia

A beautiful bottle to be sure, Judy. But the price would break my will to purchase too.

Susan from Pompano Beach, FL, United States

So instead you have a beautiful photo as a souvenir!! Did you ask if they'd accept less for the bottle? Or wasn't it the kind of place where you can do that kind of thing????

31 Jan 2009 7:58pm

@Susan: I didn't ask, but I'd heard they won't barter because there's always someone who wants it badly enough to pay their price. There are many of these reenactments, so they pack up their unsold wares for the next one.

Observing from West Cheshire, United Kingdom

Me too... it's a beautiful cobalt Blue, but expensive though, maybe you should offer just half the price !!

@tyan: Folding paper stars as in origami? They would be wonderful in bottles.
Mouth is healing a little each day; thank you, Ty!

Mandy from South Africa

Wow - I can't believe they actually charge that for a blue bottle!!??? Great shot of a very expensive collectors item! :)

1 Feb 2009 3:34am

@Mandy: Cobalt blue and Ruby red glass (containing copper or gold) are very pricey here in the US.

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

The colour is wonderful, the shape of the bottle is very attractive....had I more space, I'd collect bottles......but that price (?!) and in an empty condition (?!)

1 Feb 2009 4:08am

@Japanalia: You're right ... that price for an empty bottle? *smile*

willow from Chelsea, United States

I'm with you - I wouldn't have paid it either - you've done a great job of finding a way to take it home without coming up with a dime! Thanks for your comment on my photo today - you made my day!
