I'm taking a break from the Civil War reenactment shots, to share more of our old sailing memories. Mike I loved being on the water for a dozen years before he hurt his back, while working on the fire department.

This is another old, scanned photo ... can you see the ICE on the water? They manned a 'crash boat' (a rowboat w/a motor) in case any of the fellows went overboard and they knew they'd only have at best, three minutes to get them out. One year, the eldest frostbiter, nearing 90 went "into the drink" but was pulled out and he was fine!

January 1st is around the corner, along with an end to my daily posts, at least for now.
Dementia is so debilitating and Hubby needs more of my time.
