Playing at Daddy's knee.

Posted by
Judy aka L@dybug (Brooksville, FL, United States) on 20 January 2009 in Documentary & Street and Portfolio.

This is the second of a number of shots I took Jan. 17th, at our local Civil War Reenactment. This little girl was oblivious to the chilly weather and having so much fun, all by herself. Her parents are obvious serious re-enactors.

SONY DSLR-A100 1/160 second F/6.3 ISO 400 105 mm (35mm equiv.)

January 1st is around the corner, along with an end to my daily posts, at least for now.
Dementia is so debilitating and Hubby needs more of my time.

@tyan: Here she was, bare hands, playing with water, and some of the spectators were wearing gloves!!!

Magda from Vancouver, Canada

Absolutely adorable! Love this candid shot! My girls would be the same way.... pouring water from cup to cup (they could do that for hours!) LOL

20 Jan 2009 7:50am

@Magda: Our daughter, and then granddaughters were the same, Magda; a tea set and water - what could be better?

Lorraine from Gatineau, Canada

Oh how lovely, everything about this photo screams little girl fun, and the fact that we don't' see her face, makes her private little world private and wonderful.. from her tiny little shoes up to her little ribboned pony tail!!! One of my favourites for sure ;)

20 Jan 2009 12:32pm

@Lorraine: You are a gem .... thank you, but tomorrow you'll see her profile in another shot. :D

Barbara from Florida, United States

Really an adorable scene you have captured here. It takes me back to childhood, the way it use to be, a playful and imaginative world. I like that you captured her pouring from her teapot. Great shot Judy.

@Barbara: You're so right ... "the way it used to be" ......... imagination instead of Walmart's plastic toys!!!
