Where I live...

Posted by
Judy aka L@dybug (Brooksville, FL, United States) on 13 December 2008 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio.

This is a view of our living room just after the ornament boxes were all put away ... thanks, Honey. :D
You can just see his feet as he rests in his recliner, enjoying his collection of glass icicles on the tree ... and Belle's in her favorite spot. Between the light from the tree, the TV and the lamp, there is an unusual color cast, but I liked the soft effect.

Thank you, Anthony Lambert, for this delightful challenge.

@fabrizio: We're not quite ready for Christmas yet, but as you saw, the tree is up!

Marion from Nanaimo, BC, Canada

Lovely homey picture Judy. Love the glimpse of Belle snoozing and Mike's feet. My pictures had a rather unusual color cast as well. I'd love to come visit. ♥♥

13 Dec 2008 6:30am

@Marion: Come on down, it's cool here, but no 'white stuff' to clog the roads! :D
I do love the look of your new living room ... and would love to pop in (when it's warmer). ♥

PS: Belle's having her extractions Monday ... we're praying she'll survive the anesthesia.

Magda from Vancouver, Canada

Such warm, cozy room...... beautiful lighting and the reflection really adds to this image! (love those feet sticking out - cute, a touch of character) ;)

13 Dec 2008 6:43am

@Magda: I might have asked Mike to put his feet down, but catching a glimpse of our little Belle told me not to. After all, this is home, not a 'magazine shoot'! ♥

great reflection in the window - I love the sparkling lights. And Mike's feet in the edge of the picture are a hoot!!! Great shot of the warm glow that your Christmas tree makes in your cozy room....

13 Dec 2008 9:13pm

@Chris: Thanks, Chris ... you may have read in another comment that I considered cropping out his feet, but with Belle's health concerns, I didn't want to eliminate her ... so the sneakers remained! :D

Linerberry from Sumner, Christchurch, New Zealand

I have to say this is a beautful warm and friendly room and I wish i was having Christmas in that room!!! Lovely warm and inviting colours:-)

14 Dec 2008 9:07am

@Linerberry: Okay, we've made a 'deal' ... you can spend your Christmas in our room and we'll spend ours overlooking the water at your beautiful home! :D
We looked at a Google map to see where Sumner is, and are totally fascinated by the land mass south of you, Kukupa. Was, or is that a volcano mass? It is amazing to see how many have built in what looks like a very remote area. Thanks for peaking our interest.

Richard_Irwin from Belper, United Kingdom

Thats one spectacular Xmas tree.

14 Dec 2008 9:49am

@Richard_Irwin: Thank you, Richard ... we enjoy our Christmas tree for 5-6 weeks!
