...but it didn't seem to bother them. Sparrows must be a hearty lot!
Again ... this was taken through double-paned glass, plus the screening on the porch.

silly, but a wonderful capture Judy...
looks almost like a fight! and what a beautiful bird bath you have...mine it's much smaller and I mainly get those blue, very aggressive birds...probably typical to my area...I have no idea how they are called...

@Maria: I wonder if your blue birds are jays? They can be very aggressive. ... Many saw this as a fight, but I watched as the one on the right, flew right into the middle and then, with it's feet down, turned and moved to the right. ;D
Oh ...no ...A collision !! Great capture of the action !Happy St !

This is no collision, my dear, this is a FIGHT! I've seen many taking place on the ballustrade of my balcony! When the little males are in their "attack" mood, nothing stops them...And the witnesses seem to cheer them up....This one in the foreground, might be calling for others to join....Ahhh! What a story, what an event!

@Japanalia: Several saw this as a fight, but I watched as the one on the right, flew right into the middle and then, with it's feet down, turned and moved to the right. ;D
You always get fights at drinking holes-particularly the human ones

@CElliottUK: It really wasn't a fight ... at least not that time! ;D
OK....everyone out of the water! We are having a time out! Super capture Judy! Happy ST! ;-)))

@Eric Cousineau: As soon as the one on the right got its feet down, it moved to the right and each of them enjoyed the water. :D
Perfect timing on this shot. Happy Silly Tuesday Judy!
Wait it is Tuesday...yes because Sunday was May 20th ;-))))

@Don Levesque: Ha, ha ... we do have to double check ourselves on what day it is, right? ;D
This is a fine capture of this intense moment...at least it seems intense to me! :-) Good job of shooting through all those obstacles.

@Slackwater - Don: Thanks, Don ... the obstacles are definitely challenges. ;D
These little birdies might want to invest in some head gear! Great timing for this dramatic and detailed collision.

@Jeff: Thanks so much, Jeff ... I haven't found them to be fighters, either.
With all those layers betwixt you and these birdies, this photo came out "swimmingly" good!

Looks like your bird bath is the place to be! You have the opportunity to capture so many great action shots! It looks like you have "spectators" watching what is taking place "in the ring" here.
23 May 2012 3:13am
@Steven: Thanks, Steven; I only wish I could get outside the screened porch to take better shots!
23 May 2012 5:37am
