beautiful photo, judy.

@Seraphine: Wow, $100? That's incredible, but in the terrible blight, I'm not really surprised.

Humble, country living!

Maybe that's the servant's quarters on the left. Too much dusting for me. Nice shot Judy.

6 Nov 2009 7:30am

@Marion: I fully agree ... who needs all that dusting? xx

Curly from South Shields, United Kingdom

This is a rather grand looking place.

Viewfinder from Bradenton, FL, United States

Can you imagine having a place like this to call your "own" in such a beautiful area? Just a little fishing camp it ain't.

6 Nov 2009 1:15pm

@Viewfinder: No, I cannot imagine it; I also can't imagine cleaning it! :D

Michael Skorulski from Cigel, Slovakia

Such a lovely composition, Judy, with that beautiful grass in front.

@Michael Skorulski: Thank you, Michael.

Carol from United States

opps....I meant golf course....but I am sure there is a lot of gold around there too!

6 Nov 2009 6:00pm

@Carol: I had to come and look at the photo again and you're right, it does look like a green. We saw no other evidence of a golf course so maybe they have a private few holes on their property! :D

Susan from Fort Lauderdale, FL, United States

Nice shot, and beautiful place, but all that greenery reminds me of what it used to be like up there, when I lived there, in the springtime.....every single thing covered by a layer of yellow powdery pollen that is the death of those of us with allergies!!!!

6 Nov 2009 8:24pm

@Susan: Aha, didn't know you had once lived there, and I can only imagine the pollen everywhere. We have enough here in Florida in the early spring!

Susan from Fort Lauderdale, FL, United States

lived in atlanta about 6 1/2 years...way too southern, and too inland for me!!!

7 Nov 2009 1:31am

@Susan: I hear you ... "too southern" even tho' we live hours south here, but it's not the same. :D

Lambspun from Madison, Maine, United States

Nice house ...Judy....great shot with the tall grass in the foreground. Beautiful light....wish we could at least vacation in it ;)

Barbara from Florida, United States

A charming "little" place on the green. Plenty of room for guests. Time to dust off my clubs instead.

Found a nice line in the poem by Sidney Lanier that you mentioned in the next posting: <......when my soul all day hath drunken the soul of the oak...>
Such beautiful language!

@Japanalia: I'm happy I shared the link to the poem; you may be the only one who read it.
I agree, the language is so beautiful.
