uvaraj from New Jersey, United Stateslovely capture, more than the color of the trees the ground below is impressive. well done, 5 stars:) 21 Oct 2009 5:32am @uvaraj: Thank you so much for your comment, and the 'stars'. :D Marion from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaBeautiful Judy. Look at that carpet of red leaves.. Crunch, crunch underfoot. 21 Oct 2009 5:37am Linerberry from Sumner, Christchurch, New ZealandI really cannot believe those colours!!!! Astounding! 21 Oct 2009 8:00am Viewfinder from Bradenton, FL, United StatesAwesome. When we lived in KY we had a manse that had several red sugar maples on the lawn. When they reached their peak it was like the block was on fire. Unfortunately, the church left it up to the minister and his young family to rake up the tons (seemed like it) of leaves. It was not one of their (or my) finer moments. 21 Oct 2009 8:43pm @Viewfinder: I hear you on the issue of raking up all those "tons of leaves." susan from United StatesGorgeous color...just like we get down here, right??? NOT....... 21 Oct 2009 10:58pm Lambspun from Madison, Maine, United StatesAwesome shot looking up into those colorful trees Judy :) 22 Oct 2009 12:20pm Japanalia from Yokohama, JapanI'd like to take a walk through that carpet of leaves...I don't know WHY do they rake it all????? The leaves should be there, to be enjoyed! Around here, when the time comes for the leaves to weave the colourful carpet, the caretakers get crazy with raking and sacking them all day long! It's the time when I hate them! 25 Oct 2009 2:54am @Japanalia: From what I've read, some leaves make good compost for the grass and soil beneath them, and others do not, so must be raked clear. I remember as a child, running and jumping into piles of crunchy leaves and it was such fun. |
