A favorite wedding portrait...

Thank you everyone, for your support all year for my Sunday series of photos taken over our 50 years. This is the finale!
I'm so blessed with a wonderful husband, and grateful to God that we've had all these years to 'grow-up' together.

I can sure see why this is your favorite and whoever did the coloring on it did a fabulous job. Mike so handsome and boyish and you Judy so young and beautiful. @Marion: The photographer had us sit in the white Cadillac belonging to my parents' neighbor, the car I went to church in. (My dad's '56 Chevy convertible was a two-door car with poor access to the back seat in my gown.)
The car's light interior, the soft afternoon light and skin tones "did the coloring."
I'm happy you enjoyed the series; we've been blessed going over the old photos also, and now we strike out for another milestone - 55? 60? Only God knows. Thank you for your blessings. Hugs, Mike & Judy

@Magda: Your comment fascinates me. How do you see "older" wedding portraits different, Magda?
In this case, is it the soft colors? With both of us in white, inside a white car, the skin tones took over. :D

Enchanting moment...what to say but thank you I am very grateful for the sharing of your family (both Lovely and tragic moments) ...I get a little squeeze in my heart viewing this, and knowing that after everything that happened in those 50 years, you had the love, the strength, the willingness to stay together.

@Lorraine: Thank you, Lorraine ... your words touch my heart. I think it was the love, strength, faith and commitment to our vows that kept us together through thick and thin.
I used to laughingly state that it was easier to stick to one man than to "train" a new one!
I remember Ruth Graham's statement in an interview; when asked if she ever considered divorcing her husband, Rev. Billy Graham, she said, "No. Murder maybe, but never divorce." <grin>

Though the photo is a little yellow because of ageing,but can see the beautiful blue eyes that you and Uncle Mike have,so happy,and ps:did you make your own wedding gown?Its gorgeous,this style is in vogue again,50 years later:)

@tyan: The soft glow of color is very close to it's original state and yes, Mike's eyes are very blue in the photo.
PS: No, I didn't make my own wedding gown; it was one of very few items of clothing I didn't make at that time. It cost me $85, which seemed like a fortune at the time. :D

The joy in both your hearts and the love! It just oozes from every pore. The Marriage Blessing was given for couples married from one to sixty-five years.
(I wish I had a total # but didn't think about it until lit was too late).
It was very meaningful. Lots of love was evident. Pastor John was pleased that I'd asked him to do it and 'hugged my neck' after it was over (his term).

@Barbara: I'm running behind, but thank you, Barb. We've been blessed with willingness from each of us to work together. It wasn't always smooth, but we hung in there, and it was well worth it.
