Visiting family in CO

Posted by Judy (Brooksville, Florida, United States) on 16 August 2009 in People & Portrait and Portfolio.

This was during a happy trip to Colorado to see David, his wife and Kayla for Kayla's baptism.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog; your comments are greatly appreciated. I apologize for not getting to all of your posts. I will visit as time permits.

Scott Schilling from San Martin, United States

This looks like an awesome trip Judy! That is a long drive from Florida!

@Scott Schilling: It was an awesome trip, Scott, and since David died last year, the trip will never be the same again.
As for being a long drive, it wasn't half the length of our drive to Alaska and back (18,510 mi. door-to-door) in 1999. :D

Marie-Hélène Ammor from Casablanca/Paris, Morocco

A happy photography !

And you both look so happy! A wonderful memory.

Lorraine from Gatineau, Canada

You two give me hope, you do know that even when you reach that wonderful day, you're still going to have to post your special Sunday photos, because well they give hope ;) x

16 Aug 2009 11:40am

@Lorraine: You make me smile, Lorraine ... after all this while, you've seen more than enough of us! :D

Chris from South Jersey, United States

you guys look like you are having fun - and I notice how you have that camera around your neck, ready to photograph!!

16 Aug 2009 12:11pm

@Chris: Yes, and because of your comment, I'm changing my post for tomorrow! :D

Barbara from Florida, United States

Happy trails was my first thought and your "happy trip" confirms this was another wonderful journey among many you share with us. I've often thought of a drive west in one of these home on wheels to discover and photograph. Nice photo of you and Mike, he always has a great smile.

16 Aug 2009 1:08pm

@Barbara: Thanks, Barb; this was next to the last trip west to be with our David, so it's a bitter-sweet photo.

john4jack from Corvallis, Oregon, United States

What a delightful couple. Good to see that your lens cap is off and you are ready to shoot!

16 Aug 2009 1:33pm

@john4jack: I'm smiling, Jack, because I think those are my sunglasses in my hand. :D

tyan from Singapore, Singapore

@tyan: Tomorrow's shot and text will tell you, yes, this was our 5th-wheel RV, that we stayed in.
We had some wonderful years until the IRS changed our pension status ... not fun! :(

Viewfinder from Bradenton, FL, United States

Looks as if you're having a great time and the weather is perfect. Another memory, nicely shared. Thank you.

@Viewfinder: Thanks, Glenn ... those were very good years.

Marion from Nanaimo, BC, Canada

I have really loved this series of pictures of the two of you. You always look so happy and content to be with one another an that is such a blessing in and of itself. Ray was telling our neighbour (it was their eleventh anniversary) that our 48th was coming up and I corrected him and said 47th, but of course he was right, it is our 48th. Indeed, where has the time gone?? I didn't miss the camera around your neck oh great photographer. Do you have another long trip in you?? ;>) Wishful thinking.

16 Aug 2009 4:48pm

@Marion: We truly ARE happy with each other. Life handed us 'lemons' a number of times, but we tried our best to make lemonade! :D
Do we have another long trip in us? In our hearts, yes; in our pocketbooks, ? ? ? ♥

Bookfool from Mississippi, United States

Very cool! We just celebrated our 27th anniversary. I am NOT old enough to have been married 27 years. I was 2 years old -- it was arranged. Just so you know. :)

@Bookfool: Okay, so I could be your MOTHER ... tell me about feeling OLD. .......... <Big Grin>
