Bundled up...

... for a trek into the city to see Rockefeller Center, the decorated store windows, have dinner and to see Showboat, with a large group of our extended family.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog; your comments are greatly appreciated. I apologize for not getting to all of your posts. I will visit as time permits.

@Japanalia: I'm glad you think so, because he's 'stuck' with me! :D

Betty from New Jersey, United States

A beautiful portrait and memory for both of you. I remember my daughter taking me there to see Rockefeller Center several years ago.

9 Aug 2009 11:56am

@Betty: The city is so festive over the holidays, but I'm happy I don't have to live in it, even if there are some perks.

Barbara from Florida, United States

Could that be Mr. Rockefeller himself that you are with?
You both look snuggled up for heat and happy as ever, which makes the best image of all.
It is a fascinating place to visit and experience. Your image brings me back to visiting the area, times I will never forget.

@Barbara: Yes, bundled up in borrowed coats as we 'rarely' need anything like this in Florida! :D
Susan moved from CT to NYC in 1981 and lived there until Bridget was one in 1988. During those years, we got into the city a number of times. It's an exciting place to visit.

Such a dear photograph. (Is that the same "Showboat" in which I sang in HS in 1952?)

9 Aug 2009 3:45pm

@john4jack: Probably so, Jack ... did you sing "Ol' Man River"?

susan from Fort Lauderdale, FL, United States

Ah, to have to be "bundled up" ...what a pleasant change THAT would be right now!!!

9 Aug 2009 4:32pm

@susan: You're right, Susan, however if it weren't for our Susan's down coat I would have been frozen!
Mike had a borrowed coat too! :D

Scott Schilling from San Martin, United States

This is a great photo Judy with fantastic smiles and the lights on the trees and nice warm coats! Have a great rest of the weekend!

9 Aug 2009 7:05pm

@Scott Schilling: Exciting place to visit, but rather cold in Florida clothing ... borrowed coats helped a lot! :D

Aw Judy, what a beautiful photo and wonderful memories. In this past year you have taken many of your "flowers" on trips with you that we will never experience ourselves. Thanks for that dear friend. ♥

@Marion: Thank you dear Marion ... your words are so appreciated. We know that at any day our time together might end, so we relish each and every day. Love is truly GRAND! xx
