The Great SphynxPosted by Judy (Brooksville, Florida, United States) on 10 May 2009 in People & Portrait and Portfolio. What an experience this was, to actually be here and marvel at the ancient carving. The Sphynx gazes due east and was covered up to its neck in sand until the mid nineteen twenties. Even in Ancient times there are accounts of the Sphynx being dug out from the sand. Thanks, George, for taking this of us. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL THE MOTHERS OUT THERE IN AM3 LAND! Thank you so much for visiting my blog; your comments are greatly appreciated. I apologize for not getting to all of your posts. I will visit as time permits. ---~--- Philippians 4:13 'We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.' ... <*}}}><

My surgery will be done robotically - 3D imaging for the doctor with four small openings and one 2" incision through which he'll work. (Arthroscopic is 2D.) For more info, check out this site. observing from North West, United KingdomThat must have been wonderful standing there by the sphinx, a place full of secrets. Of course a prayer will be said for you Judy, and it will probably just be a little benign thing. [email] 10 May 2009 8:59pm @observing: It was definitely a remarkable trip to go to the Holy Land for ten days and then end up with five in Egypt. Bookfool from Mississippi, United StatesWow, you've been all over the place, haven't you? This is so cool. You know you're in my prayers. I hope the waiting isn't too miserable. That can be the hardest thing -- just waiting to get the darned procedure over with and find out the results. Wish you well! 10 May 2009 10:43pm @Bookfool: Thank you so much ... and the waiting will be broken up with our granddaughter's graduation in DC next weekend, then a holiday weekend, then pre-op and then the surgery. We're ready and raring to get it behind us! Susan from Fort Lauderdale, FL, United StatesHey Judy, thanks for that link....I fully understand now, and I'm thrilled that you will not have to go thru what's known as "major surgery".....sounds like you will be up and around in no time, thanks to that robot that's gonna fix you!!!! 11 May 2009 12:48am @Susan: You're welcome, Susan ... I'm so happy that my time is now for this type of surgery. Barbara from Florida, United StatesYou have traveled a great distance together, not only in miles but in the love you have for each other. A most significant image for memories. Incredible to be so close to something most only see in history books. 11 May 2009 3:36am @Barbara: Yes, Barb, we have traveled far and wide together in may ways. It has been delightful to focus on one period photo of our lives per week and I know that isn't the point of this site, but if it's my blog I guess I can do it my way, right? :D |
