Uncle Curt w/niece, Kayla

Posted by Judy (Brooksville, Florida, United States) on 30 April 2009 in People & Portrait and Portfolio.

Uncle Curt stopped to see Kayla one more time before she left. He was on his way home after a long night at work and I think he could have fallen asleep with her on his lap.
This is the end of the family series, at least for now. :D

Thank you so much for visiting my blog; your comments are greatly appreciated. I apologize for not getting to all of your posts. I will visit as time permits.

tyan from Singapore, Singapore

they look so close! I never had close relationships with my uncles nor aunties, esp from my dad's side, they were always quarrelling over something...LOL

30 Apr 2009 12:33pm

@tyan: Ohhh, Tyan, I understand as I didn't have a close relationship with mine either.
Curt will only see Kayla occasionally through her life as long as she lives so far away from us, but with her daddy gone, her Uncle Curt is a very specail connection for her - her only uncle. xx

Viewfinder from Bradenton, FL, United States

A very sweet photo, Judy. It's been a privilege joining with your family in this recent series. Kayla is a little angel, and Uncle Curt knows it.

30 Apr 2009 1:45pm

@Viewfinder: Thanks, Glenn ... yes, Uncle Curt wishes, as we do, that Kayla lived much closer to us!

Marie-Hélène Ammor from Casablanca/Paris, Morocco

Wonderful portrait ,tenderness and joyful . Have they the same color of eyes?

30 Apr 2009 1:57pm

@Marie-Hélène Ammor: Their eyes are very similar ... a bit more hazel than blue, but vary according to the light.
Thank you, Marie.

Susan from Fort Lauderdale, FL, United States

Great portrait of the 2,.....usually, that close, you'd expect some distortion, but this worked well!!

30 Apr 2009 2:48pm

@Susan: Thanks, Susan; I was sitting away from them, with the 18-200 lens and then I cropped it close.
My photos, now that I understand AM3's compression, are never more than 800 pixels wide, so that leaves a lot of room for cropping.

Lorraine from Gatineau, Canada

@Lorraine: Ohhh, you are sweet ... thank you so much, Lorraine! xx

What a sweet photo. I'm sure Kayla appreciates a little cuddling from a big guy.

1 May 2009 1:16am

@Bookfool: Yes, she did ... in her Daddy's absence, especially.

Magda from Vancouver, Canada
