@rem_la: Merci! LeenaM from Joensuu, FinlandBeautiful animals, fortunately they don`t need to fight really :) Happy Valentine`s day and weekend to you! 13 Feb 2009 7:33am @LeenaM: Thank you, Leena ... and another Happy Valentine's Day to you and yours! Barbara from Florida, United StatesThey are beautiful. I like the position of how one stands the other down. The background keeps the scene natural. Very nice, Judy. 13 Feb 2009 1:18pm @Barbara: Thank you ... a part of me would like to live in those times...! Susan from Fort Lauderdale, FL, United StatesGreat comp on this....... Love how one of them is "resting"...... 13 Feb 2009 2:15pm @Susan: Thanks, Susan ... they were beautiful horses! @Lorraine: You're right! Marion from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaI love horses and these two are really beautiful. Love their positions. 13 Feb 2009 4:24pm @Marion: I didn't go too close, because to many to up to them, hoping they're friendly. I'm sure they were or their owner wouldn't have let them out of his sight, but I wanted them be natural. Chris from South Jersey, United Stateshow can the one who is sitting be ready for battle - maybe ready for a nap!! 13 Feb 2009 5:12pm @Chris: I guess I should have titled it differently ... :D EYES WIDE SHUT from The library of my soul, United KingdomGlorious, majestic animals. What beauties you've captured, Judy. A superb composition 13 Feb 2009 6:30pm @EYES WIDE SHUT: Thanks, Paul, for your comment. Viewfinder from Bradenton, FL, United StatesWhat beautiful horses! This is a very nice photo, Judy. And it's ok if they are "yankee" horses. Heh. 13 Feb 2009 6:37pm @Viewfinder: You know, I don't remember any blankets on the confederate horses, but maybe I missed them. Diane Schuller from Hythe, Canadavery nice capture. How inconsiderate and lazy of the riders not to remove the saddles. 13 Feb 2009 7:00pm @Diane Schuller: They were getting ready to hold the reenactment 'battle' so while the horses rested, the 'soldiers' got themselves ready. Markela from Athens, GreeceA beautiful animal and nature photo, Judy! I like how these horses look in the same direction. 13 Feb 2009 8:17pm @Markela: Thank you, Markela; I should have noted what it was they were looking at but I didn't. Ina from Krugersdorp, South AfricaThank you for your comment Judy :) I did not even know it was my 500th post! hehe, thanks for reminding me :) 13 Feb 2009 9:20pm @Ina: I might not have noticed, but since I just 'crossed the bar' I saw that you were there also! :D Marie-Hélène Ammor from Casablanca/Paris, MoroccoSuperb photo of these two horses !! 13 Feb 2009 9:29pm @Marie-Hélène Ammor: Thank you, Marie! @Poemas: Gracias to you also! @jamesy: Thanks, Deb. Jen from Alpharetta, United StatesKind of look ready to nap! LOL 14 Feb 2009 1:12am @Jen: I can't imagine how hot they must get in the sun down here, but they seem to enjoy the sport of the battle. Linerberry from Sumner, Christchurch, New ZealandOh what a beautiful capture...perfect compo!! 14 Feb 2009 1:15am @Linerberry: Thanks a lot! JJ from Jersey City, United StatesWonderful capture, superb detail and lighting 14 Feb 2009 1:42am @JJ: Thank you, JJ ... and a Happy Valentine's Day! Michael Skorulski from Cigel, SlovakiaWonderful light and composition here, Judy. Enjoyable. 14 Feb 2009 2:29am @Michael Skorulski: Thanks, Michael. @Cricket/Tammy: Thanks, Tammy; it was fun reading the interchange with Carol ... you are a brave mom! Tammy/Cricket from Huntsville, United StatesOh thank you. I did delete the message with Carol. I feel as though sometimes my friends have a sympathy for me that I don't really deserve. I deleted the comment not because I didn't care for the world to see I just don't want to display that times are lonely for they are not. My house is always open for anyone to come and visit. Having children there is always a computer on in the kitchen. My friends may enter and leave me notes in all sorts of places. It is like finding Easter eggs....they are always hidden. The dinner for the teens turned out great. We had a festive Valentine's Day. I even went to ride horses. 15 Feb 2009 5:15pm @Tammy/Cricket: Enjoy your teens and their friends every minute you can ... these years pass all to quickly! xx Japanalia from Yokohama, JapanThis is a very good composition, Judy! But.....poor souls.....they have no idea what battle might be! They did keep a nice pose just for you, though! 22 Feb 2009 5:44am @Japanalia: Again, you are so correct ... I wonder if both would have survived the real thing... |
