Rounding the mark...

Posted by Judy aka L@dybug (Brooksville, FL, United States) on 27 January 2009 in Sport & Recreation and Portfolio.

Thanks, everyone for your comments yesterday. ... Oh, oh ... he hit the mark so now has to sail a 720-degree penalty - two circles - before continuing in the race!
This one must have been taken early in the fall season because the 'big' boats were still at their docks. When the harbor would ice up, the fellows in the crash boat would motor around trying to break it up so the guys could hold their races.

Lovely capture of the action Judy...I love the boat that looks as if it is taking on water - those guys are in a spot of trouble. hahaha

@Mandy Provan: They managed to sail on and get out unscathed. Thanks, Mandy, for your comment.

Interesting fact about the race (hitting the mark). Still looks cold, even though there's no ice. Nice colors!

@Betty: You're right ......... it was absolutely bitter some Sundays!

EYES WIDE SHUT from United Kingdom

I wouldn't want to be the boat just about to capsize! Brrrrr! Another really neat capture, Judy. I'm in the clubhouse on my third Hot chocolate as I watch the race ha ha

@EYES WIDE SHUT: He never capsized, though occasionally that happened. Brrrrrrrrr is right!
