Marie-Hélène Ammor from Casablanca/Paris, Morocco

A beautiful photo ,cheerful and elegant and ...full of beautiful objects which from year to year are memories !

@Marie-Hélène Ammor: Thank you, Marie ... each year it is a labor of love as we place the ornaments.

Fliss from Melbourne Beach, United States

I love that red ball up the top...

@Fliss: We have about six of those 'frosted' balls and I like them too, Fliss.
The green one with the gold crocheted 'jacket' was made by a friend and that's a favorite too.

Viewfinder from Bradenton, United States

I like the little birds; we have a few sets of those - none are antiques - sadly, those blown glass antique birdies went the way of >>>>crash/tinkle<<<< a lot of years ago.

@Viewfinder: Awwwwww, the ">>>>crash/tinkle<<<<" tells it all.

Marion from Nanaimo, BC, Canada

Old beautiful treasures Judy and I bet each has a story. I have those graduated bells but leave them hanging all year on my book shelf just because a dear friend gave them to me. Love your tree pictures.

9 Dec 2008 4:51pm

@Marion: I love the bells too, but a couple of ladybug ornaments are the only ones that 'hang around' all year here. :D

Barbara from Florida, United States

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.....
I am certainly getting into the spirit of the season viewing your holiday treasures. Very nice, Judy.

@Barbara: Thank you, Barb. I'm afraid I'm in a reminiscing mood and haven't taken too many new shots this month ... simply too busy!

MaryB from Staffordshire, United Kingdom

Love them all Judy, the Angel and the bubble like one on the top right are my very favourite though :)

10 Dec 2008 1:53am

@MaryB: I love that cloth Angel too, and there are several of those clear bubbles; they play with the lights of the tree. Thanks Mary!

Krisu from Tampere, Finland

Christmas is the best season to me and I enjoy you having your trees decorated so early. We decorate our trees only day or two before Christmas eve. But we have special advent calendars that helps especially the children to wait until Christmas. All the adults like advent calendars too, they have 'the spirit' to us. The idea is to open one door every morning and have a 'surprise' In fact I have a calendar in my blog too, I post every day one door to open by clicking. And there is also a mini version of the whole calendar in the top bar of my blog, 'joulukalenteri'. Joulu= Christmas in Finnish. Want to come and look and open doors? Here's the address: Merkintöjä Melukylästä You have ten days (doors) to open!

10 Dec 2008 6:59am

@Krisu: Thank you, Krisu, for your comment. When I was a child in the 1940's our tree went up just before Christmas, but through the years, trees went up earlier and now many put theirs up at the beginning of December, to enjoy all month - or longer. We leave ours up until after Jan. 6th, the day of Epiphany.

We always had an Advent calendar when our children were young and I've given them to our grandchildren also, but sadly, television seems to take up their free time, rather than reading Christmas stories and opening a door on the calendar each day. ... I did go and open each of your Advent 'doors' and finding the surprises. Thank you for the invitation!
