Childhood SantaPosted by Judy (Brooksville, Florida, United States) on 6 December 2008 in Miscellaneous and Portfolio. This very old Santa, which was my mother's in her childhood in the 1920's & 30's, has been on my trees since before I can remember. He has a wire coming from one foot that twists around a branch and fortunately has withstood use for about 90 Christmases. I dare say he may make it to 100! Jesus is the reason for the season, and Santa reminds us of the spirit of giving! Thank you so much for visiting my blog; your comments are greatly appreciated. I apologize for not getting to all of your posts. I will visit as time permits. ---~--- Philippians 4:13 'We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.' ... <*}}}><

Marion from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaJolly old St. Nick. Proof Santa is ageless. Incredible he looks well cared for. These are the kind of trees I like, the ornaments have a story and are meaningful. Very nice Judy. 6 Dec 2008 3:32pm @Barbara: Thanks, Barb ... me too! :D Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesAside from purely sentimental value, this ornament might have a pretty good price on the vintage market. Of course, the history it has makes it priceless to you and your family. I am happy for you that something like this has withstood the years so well. 6 Dec 2008 7:30pm @Viewfinder: Oh Glenn, some the most difficult stories I've heard are of those who lost all their Christmas treasures in bad hurricanes. They can't compare to losing loved ones, but many do have a treasury of memories in their boxes of ornaments. ... Just so long as we connect the memories and the real reason for the season, with our thanks! Fliss from Melbourne Beach, United StatesAnd still he goes strong... I believe... I believe... 6 Dec 2008 8:33pm Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomNice old Santa, and no doubt made in USA ?
