Stopped on the road...Posted by Judy (Brooksville, Florida, United States) on 13 November 2008 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio. We were driving out of Echo Basin Ranch RV Park when we came upon these free range cattle. "Free range is a method of farming husbandry where the animals are allowed to roam freely instead of being contained in any manner. The term is used in two senses that do not overlap completely: as a farmer-centric description of husbandry methods, and as a consumer-centric description of them. Farmers practice free range to achieve free-range or humane certification (and thus capture high prices), to reduce feed costs, to produce a higher-quality product, as a method of raising multiple crops on the same land, or for other reasons." Thank you so much for visiting my blog; your comments are greatly appreciated. I apologize for not getting to all of your posts. I will visit as time permits. ---~--- Philippians 4:13 'We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.' ... <*}}}><

You're an artist! Between yesterday's and this image today, you could do a "cowboy" kind of series of framed wall hangings. This is really nice. I can practically hear the cattle, and smell the air. 13 Nov 2008 12:39pm @Viewfinder: Thank you so much, my friend. I found a few favorites from the archives, while looking for my Sunday shots. ;D MJ from Delaware, United Statesgreat fun shot.... I appreciate your comments! Barbara from Florida, United StatesAnother well photographed scene. The processing is very effective for this image. Definitely a more humane way for the cattle to live and feed. Healthier choice if you eat meat. But I would have a name for each one. 13 Nov 2008 3:47pm @Barbara: I'm smiling at your "name for each one" ... who knows, maybe he did name them! ;D Jeff from Pembroke Dock, United KingdomAt long last !!Cowboys !!...Keep them doggies moving..A really cracking shot (And I didn't screw my eyes up today) more of the same please Judy. ;>)) 13 Nov 2008 6:08pm @Jeff: Another Texas shot tomorrow (no cowboys, though) and then it will be another Sunday shot from the archives! ;D Chris from South Jersey, United StatesWhat a fun "traffic jam"!
