Our priviledge & responsibility...!Posted by Judy (Brooksville, Florida, United States) on 4 November 2008 in Miscellaneous and Portfolio. We're praying for a huge voter turn-out in the United States as we bring to a close, a very difficult election year. God bless our new leader. We voted several weeks ago by absentee ballots, to avoid the long lines! Over the years, I've taken many photos of the flag that proudly waves in our front yard; for today, it just called out to me to be shown on AM3. No matter what our feelings are, we must take our responsibility seriously and be a part of building a better world if at all possible. Remember all who have given their service or paid the ultimate sacrifice so that mankind could be free ... we pray for more peace in our sorry world. 2 Timothy 2:1 Next Challenge... "MY Special Place" Friday 7th November. Maybe it is the place you live, a room you love, a place you go... somewhere you love to be, a place that is "your space" that means something to you. (No toilets please :o) Please also let me know any ideas you might have for future challenge topics. Thank you so much for visiting my blog; your comments are greatly appreciated. I apologize for not getting to all of your posts. I will visit as time permits. ---~--- Philippians 4:13 'We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.' ... <*}}}><

Barbara from Florida, United StatesPowerful and proud visual statement. Well done Judy. 4 Nov 2008 5:40am @Barbara: Thank you, Barb ... this will be a longgggg day (and no one knows just HOW long)! Marion from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaToday promises to be a very hectic one for Americans and your neighbours are watching closely. Thank goodness there won't be anymore political bashing going on. May the best man win and yes God bless the next President. 4 Nov 2008 5:40am @Marion: Thank you, Marion ... I pray the 'bashing' will stop, however, I sadly expect the opponents of the winner will continue for some time to come. @Magda: Thank you, Magda! Marie-Hélène Ammor from Casablanca/Paris, MoroccoWe all are waiting for your new leader ! Your photo is very well made and title is great ! 4 Nov 2008 7:21am @Marie-Hélène Ammor: I know the world view of our country is not always what we see here, so this is going to be an interesting, if not challenging time. Are we perhaps too close to the forest to see the trees ... clearly? chrissy from London, United KingdomAgree that this is very powerful, well composed 4 Nov 2008 8:22am @chrissy: Thank you, Chrissy. Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaVery Powerful like your beautiful country, may it elect the Best! oh I'm there hun, let's see I have three Moka coffee, 3 house blend, I also brought a few teas, just in case you know, along with (on the side bien sur) cream, milk, light milk, powder, honey, brown sugar, sugar, sugar-free sugar, and whisper a little Bailey's for later if we stay to discuss US politics all day, you know ;) 4 Nov 2008 11:10am @Lorraine: Thank you, Lorraine ... that's what we're praying for, the Best, in God's eyes! Now for the Moka coffee and ALL the extras you've tucked into your basket. It looks like you, Barb and I will have plenty of time to get to really know one another ... if after the Bailey's we remember any of it! <grin> Betty from New Jersey, United StatesI will be one of those in the long lines! Excellent message for today, Judy. VOTE! This election is so important! 4 Nov 2008 11:22am @Betty: I'll be at work, hoping the lines will be long enough to indicate people are taking the vote seriously, yet moving fast enough to get the job done! Michael Skorulski from Cigel, SlovakiaVery crisp, Judy. i shall vote but we'll have to wait for the next Canadian election! 4 Nov 2008 11:29am @Michael Skorulski: I understand, Michael ... absentee ballot for you? Our neighbours (spelled your way) to the North are as anxious as we are, I believe, for the outcome of this election. Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomIt seems that your elections are being watched very closely, and not just by Canada.
Great shot of that beautiful flag. 4 Nov 2008 12:01pm @Observing: Thanks, Mike (I removed one of the two http's and hopefully your URL is an active link now) ... You may be right that the world's gone mad! Our son-in-law had an exciting discussion at a family Christening in London on Saturday, and may have had the opportunity to continue it on Downing St. Monday morning; we haven't spoken with him since his return home to New Jersey late last night. Les from Lincoln, United StatesNice shot, Judy. Let's hope this year's election doesn't last until December 13th again! Thanks for visiting my election picture today. 4 Nov 2008 12:02pm @Les: Thanks, Les ... I won't be holding my breath, thinking we'll have a definitive answer before I go to bed! ;D Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesHope there are no hanging chads or ACORNS growing in Florida this year. 4 Nov 2008 12:17pm @Viewfinder: You've got THAT one (or those two) right on, my friend!!! Fliss from Melbourne Beach, United StatesCan't vote Judy but will be advertising with my T-shirt... do like the way the flag is unfurled and flapping in the wind... 4 Nov 2008 12:44pm @Fliss: Aha ... still loyal to your roots down under! Hopefully Mike will do his part! ;D Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomThanks Judy..... I was still half asleep this morning ;) either that or I'm becoming senile. 4 Nov 2008 12:59pm @Observing: No problem. When I 'dug out' the URL and saw what it was, I wanted it to be seen ... and read! ;D Carver from Snap2Days from United StatesThat's a beautiful shot. I hope there will be a huge turn out! JJ from Jersey City, United Stateswonderful colors and strong image, its a big day not just for the united States but all the world I hope there will be a big turnout and the right choice made PS Even though I am living here in the states I am on a work Visa so not entitled to vote 4 Nov 2008 1:48pm @JJ: Thanks, JJ ... and "right choice" is the operative phrase - depending on what you see as the truth! Jeff from Pembroke Dock, United KingdomMy Dad always told me !If you dont vote you can't moan !...Hope the right guy gets in,the world depends on it. 4 Nov 2008 2:39pm @Jeff: In my opinion, it's sad that the country is so divided on what is the truth, but time will tell who they believed! Chris from South Jersey, United StatesWonderful shot and an important reminder..... 4 Nov 2008 4:53pm MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomI agree with Jeff, that's what I was told too! I hope the outcome will be a favourable one for all concerned. 4 Nov 2008 8:31pm @MaryB: We were raised with the same message; we voted! Who will win is the big question, and about half of our population is going to be disgruntled! SabineM from United StatesToday feels like Christmas... 4 Nov 2008 8:55pm @SabineM: Christmas ......... that's an interesting comparison! Sammi from New Jersey, United StatesI can't vote. Sorry to disappoint you... I like the photo! Our flag is beautiful. 4 Nov 2008 9:58pm @Sammi: Not yet, Sweetie ... but believe me, it won't be long and you'll have the responsibility on your shoulders too! xx |
