On Martha's Vineyard

Posted by Judy (Brooksville, Florida, United States) on 26 October 2008 in People & Portrait and Portfolio.

This was taken during a wonderful camping trip on the Vineyard. While there we went to Gay Head Cliffs and the boys found fossils on the beach, which had been washed out of the clay cliffs. It was illegal to dig them out, but if the rain did it, they were okay to take. That summer they were filming the movie 'JAWS' offshore, so all the activity was exciting for the children to watch. See Bridget's photo in yesterday's post. (Bridget is Susan's daughter.)

PS: BRIDGET FINISHED - 26.2 miles in 3:59:25 (3 hrs, 59 mins, 25 seconds). HOORAY, BRIDGET!!!

Barbara from Florida, United States

Fabulous! It is filled with family memories of a wonderful time. Beautiful family photo, Judy. That must have been incredible to be there at the time JAWS was being filmed.
I've had Bridget in my thoughts and prayers for the marathon. I actually thought of her image with the straight vs. curled hair, great images.
It is an exciting time for her right now.

@Barbara: Barbara ... we're just home from church and learned Bridget finished - I added her time in my text above. She wanted to do it in under four hours (which you must, to qualify for the Boston Marathon). She did it with 35 seconds to spare ......... she is remarkable and now can celebrate!

Thanks for your comment; it was definitely a fabulous time to be on the Vineyard.
