4 Magda...

Posted by Judy (Brooksville, Florida, United States) on 24 October 2008 in People & Portrait and Portfolio.

I couldn't resist sharing this comparison with you, Magda. *smile*
Bridget's natural, bouncy curls are so beautiful, but like you, she often prefers her hair straightened.

Tomorrow's post will tell of our eldest granddaughter's first marathon run to be held Sunday, October 26, 2008.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog; your comments are greatly appreciated. I apologize for not getting to all of your posts. I will visit as time permits.

Marie-Hélène Ammor from Casablanca/Paris, Morocco

Hello Judy ! She is so beautiful, wonderful smile and eyes ! These 2 portraits are superb !

24 Oct 2008 8:21am

@Marie-Hélène Ammor: She is such a wonderful person and we're so proud of her accomplishments!

Lorraine from Gatineau, Canada

Doesn't matter, she's stunning in both...just a different style, and lovely photos of her chere grand-maman!
(I have the same naturally curly hair...I didn't like it when i was young, but I apprecicate it now, although in principle I keep it straight in winter and let it go curly in summer, can't beat humidity ;)

@Lorraine: She is such a beautiful person, Lorraine ... you'd like her, curly or straight! :D

Betty from New Jersey, United States

She's a beautiful girl... and her hair is gorgeous either way!

@Betty: Thanks, Betty.

MaryB from Staffordshire, United Kingdom

Both it's great to have the best of both worlds with hair :D, I agree with Lorraine your grandaughter is a real beauty Judy.
a power cut prevented me from visiting yesterday evening.
Have a great weekend

@MaryB: Thank you, Mary ... and I wish you a great weekend also!

Viewfinder from Bradenton, United States

She's gorgeous, regardless. Our younger daughter (24) has hair that is naturally wavy/curly and goes back and forth between straight and natural, depending on her mood. It works for her, too. Either way.

Your comparison photos of Bridget's hairstyles (actually of Bridget herself) are both excellent.

24 Oct 2008 1:16pm

@Viewfinder: Thank you, so much ... those with curls/waves that we with straight hair dream of, aren't always pleased with the way their hair does what it wants, i guess. ;D

I'm sure Bridget is preparing to pull her hair back off her face for Sunday's marathon!

Michael Skorulski from Cigel, Slovakia

So beautiful. Both the girl and the image. What a vivacious smile!

24 Oct 2008 1:56pm

@Michael Skorulski: You'd like her, Michael ... a sweet personality and lovely values!

Magda from Vancouver, Canada

She is absolutely beautiful!!! She should be a model! Love her hair straight and curly. I prefer to have my hair straighten but with two little ones I don't have the time so I wear my hair in a pony tail 95% of the time. My girls love it though when I go to a hairdresser and have my hair straighten. :) I don't wash my hair for days so I can enjoy them as long as possible! LOL
Our neighbour girl straightened Paige and Tara's hair (as a surprise for me... was I surprised!!!). Since then my girls hate their curly hair. :( Already!
Thank you for this surprise! I really enjoyed it and I hope she doesn't dislike her hair as much as I do mine because she looks equally pretty in both.

24 Oct 2008 3:29pm

@Magda: Thanks, Magda, and I knew you'd like the composite. I agree, Bridget could be a model, but she wants to be a pediatrician! :D

Susan, our daughter, has spent so many hours over the years with the 'iron' in her hand, straightening Bridget's hair for her, but now in college, I don't know who Bridget has help her with it. *smile*

I think it's a case of the hours and hours in my 70 decades spent trying to soften my hair with some form of wave, that makes me long for some natural curl. We always want what we don't have, right? I hope Paige and Tara will learn to manage their curls and that you will help them see the beauty in not having to have perms or so much fussing over their hair. (Not sure that will work, though. <grin>) I am sure that you too, look equally pretty, with or without curls! xx

PS: I'm sure Bridget's hair will be pulled back tight on Sunday for her first marathon run!

Carol from United States

She is beautiful either way. Looking forward to hearing about the Marathon.

Bill Jennings from (Bay Area Northern Calif), United States

With such lovely hair and complexion - you can't go wrong with either (straight or curvy) : however, I would recommend she really use as little unnatural product or processing on her hair, so it keeps the natural glisten and health over the years.

22 May 2009 5:05pm

@Bill Jennings: Thanks, Bill; she's pretty careful and savvy regarding her body.
You may not know that she survived pancreatic cancer at 15 ... and is now headed for medical school.
