Barbara from Florida, United StatesMike is serious because he is thinking I will never give up this tie. I had a big smile with this image and your caption. Who thought back in 1972 we would be viewing these images again on our computer screen. 19 Oct 2008 5:14am @Barbara: Ha, ha ... you've got a great idea, Barb; if we could get the keyboard to sew, we could do our mending right here while catching up on other things! Thanks for the chuckle! Marion from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaLove this picture Judy. I think Mike is thinking "another picture?" He still wears that tie. Wow, did you make it? You both are adorable. I remember those years of 'Stretch & Sew', I think I still have some of the material. Great picture and memories. 19 Oct 2008 6:20am @Marion: Silly girl ... you didn't read the caption! ;D Marie-Hélène Ammor from Casablanca/Paris, MoroccoWonderful memories Judy ! 19 Oct 2008 7:14am @Marie-Hélène Ammor: Thanks, Marie ... I corrected my typo in the text! @lisa v: Thank you ... my hairstyle never changed very much over the years. Jeff from Pembroke Dock, United KingdomI cant comment on Mike's dress sense,I had an afro hair cut and platform shoes, thank God there are no photo's...He wasn't so lucky. Nice earrings though. ;>)) 19 Oct 2008 7:58am @Jeff: Ohhhhh, poor Pat, she has no photos of those times? (Hee, hee) ... I can't quite see you in an afro and platform shoes. ;D tyan from Singapore, Singaporeyou two are a gorgeous pair!I had to gaze at the image for a few more moments..lol.and i am so impressed to read that you made clothes for yourself and family,if i had to do that i probably wouldnt get married, hahaha. 19 Oct 2008 9:01am @tyan: I wish I'd kept some record of how many items I made over all the years - hundreds of them, from baby clothes before Susan was born, playclothes for all three, my own clothes and coats, Mike's things, etc. Then I had my own business so made wedding gowns, bridesmaids' dresses, drapes, slipcovers, you name it, I probably tried it. ;D Betty from New Jersey, United StatesBravo, Mike, for still wearing that tie! I remember those days of stretch fabric... I sewed back then, also, and made quite a bit of our clothing. But not slacks or sports jackets. I was married in 1971 and my first daughter was born in 1974! You both look wonderful! 19 Oct 2008 10:26am @Betty: When I tired of the repetitive teaching with knits, I moved on to my own dressmaking business and had fun doing all sorts of things. When we moved from CT to FL in '87, I put the sewing aside, except for sewing for our granddaughters. ;D Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaThat's a loving couple, together...it's wonderful and you both have the kind of beauty that never fades...or in other words, you're a hot chick, with class ;) 19 Oct 2008 11:00am @Lorraine: Giggling.......I say, "class?" I was in the class of 1956 if that means anything! <grin> Loving, yes ... we are thankful that the meaning of commitment was equally shared! @Eleftheria!: 1972 was good year then, wasn't it; without her, we wouldn't have YOU! ;D @Eleftheria!: Awwwww, but so old, compared to your mother! *smile* Mandy Provan from Johannesburg, South Africahahaha - it definitely has staying power - that or our fashions are going back to knit fabrics and stretch and sew!! hahahaha. What a great memory Judy! 19 Oct 2008 1:56pm @Mandy Provan: You can't wear that darned polyester out! <grin> @Michael Skorulski: Lots more wisdom comes with added years! ;D @NANNE: Thank you, Nanne. Fliss from Melbourne Beach, United StatesAnd you haven't changed a bit... sorry I haven't been around as much... work is keeping me busy right now... 19 Oct 2008 7:53pm @Fliss: I don't know about the not changing! <grin> Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesYou look like a very happy couple in 1972, and have found a way to keep tha happiness going all these years. Good for you Judy and Mike! I'm enjoying looking into your years gone by photos every Sunday. 19 Oct 2008 11:49pm @Viewfinder: Thank you so much, VF ... looking back, those 'bumps' we faced look so small in the larger scheme of things. Magda from Vancouver, CanadaWell, I was born in 1971 so I missed that "wonderful" time in style... (grin) but hey, I was there for the 80's (ahhhhh!) I hope no one uploads those photos of me in that era.... hehehehe p.s. 20 Oct 2008 3:51pm @Magda: Hey... maybe you had 'stretchy' baby clothes! <grin> PS: Hint ... hair! Josh from Pasadena, United StatesJudy I love your flashback images interspersed among new shots, really captures your values and joys :) 21 Oct 2008 3:12am @Josh: Thank you, Josh ... that is a wonderful compliment. This 50th year of our marriage is a blessing beyond many. |
