Great capture ! feathers on the neck seems to be able to be touched ,so smooth ...and colors with sun and shadow ...superb!

Gorgeous Great Blue Heron. Beautiful shot, the shadows make him look smokey. I love how the light enhances the eye. Very nice Judy.

@Barbara: Thank you, Barb ... it was amazing that he let me get to within 8-10 feet of him, always with the camera in front of my face. I didn't make eye-to-eye contact with him until the very end, when he turned and walked down the rocks.
