Our resident wild friend...Posted by Judy (Brooksville, Florida, United States) on 1 September 2008 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio. This lovely little rabbit likes to sleep beneath our shrubbery; we never know exactly where we'll find it. Do you think it's a Peter or a Piper? Thank you so much for visiting my blog; your comments are greatly appreciated. I apologize for not getting to all of your posts. I will visit as time permits. ---~--- Philippians 4:13 'We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.' ... <*}}}><

Helen from Albuquerque, United StatesI think it's a Peter. Either way it's a great shot. 1 Sep 2008 5:32am @Helen: Thank you, Helen. Marion from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaI agree, Peter Cotton Tail for sure. What a great picture of him. We have a few around here too, but haven't been able to get a clear shot of one. Have a good Monday Judy. 1 Sep 2008 5:38am @Marion: I was amazed that s/he allowed me this close - about six feet away. I moved VERY slowly both moving in and then away. jamesy from christchurch, New ZealandI must say I agree definately a Peter and I made up my mind before I read the other comments. You did well to get such a lovely clear photo 1 Sep 2008 7:15am @jamesy: Thank you ......... more votes for Peter, but I had the feeling it was a she! ;D Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaI was thinking Doris, I don't know why, either way she's adorable, great, great macro of this gentle beauty :) 1 Sep 2008 9:45am @Lorraine: Thanks, Lorraine; I felt she was a she too. ;D Betty from New Jersey, United StatesIt's a Piper! She's beautiful! Great capture, Judy... she has beautiful eyes! 1 Sep 2008 11:09am @Betty: Thanks again ... her eyes really spoke to me and I'm happy she trusted my presence. Capture from Hoover, United StatesGreat capture. Made me think of the book Watership Down and it also reminded me of a little "bunny" that I rescued when I was a child. I love looking at your pictures and reading your comments. 1 Sep 2008 1:42pm @Capture: Thank you so much, 'Capture' ... I appreciate your comment. Chris from South Jersey, United StatesHow cute - we have lots of rabbits in our yard as well (and Daisy loves to chase them!!). 1 Sep 2008 1:46pm @Chris: Yes, I'd imagine you'd have your fair share with the open space around you. Mike is convinced he should build a natural-type hutch for them, but our neighbor isn't in favor of that. :D MJ from Delaware, United StatesWhat a cute bunny... We have a few running around , but with the neighbors cats..... I love the grass around her and the look ... really adorable 1 Sep 2008 2:32pm @MJ: Thanks, MJ ... and there are two more shots coming! tyan from Singapore, Singaporeone thing i am sure,Caleb and Ian are gonna love this!If they were at your yard, they'll be screaming and running and chasing after Piper(i think:)) 1 Sep 2008 2:53pm @tyan: Hi Ty, and I have two more of this wonderful bunny coming. However.........she wouldn't have stayed with active children around, I'm sure. ;D Peter Miller from Lichfield, United KingdomFriendly rabbit, not sure what his/her name is, hope it keeps safe 1 Sep 2008 2:54pm @Peter Miller: S/he is safely tucked away in some little hideout, I'm sure. Dogs can't run loose here, so the rabbits are pretty safe. @valenttin: Awwwww, I couldn't eat her. ;D @Ina: Thanks, Ina. MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomOh he just has to be a Peter, he is so adorable Judy, beautiful shot. 1 Sep 2008 11:25pm @MaryB: Thank you, Mary ... you'll have to see tomorrow's shot! ;D Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomCute little rabbit, do you feed him..? It's a lovely shot. 1 Sep 2008 11:44pm @Observing: No, Mike, we haven't fed them, but my Mike would love to build a natural style hutch for them. @Magda: Thank you, Magda, but you'll have to come back to see tomorrow's shot. ;D Dylan from Delhi, United StatesNice shot Judy. I was about ten feet from a Rabbit the other day. It was hopping through some flowers. No camera though. 2 Sep 2008 3:49am @Dylan: Oops........no camera, no photo; poor Dylan! <grin> Barbara from Florida, United StatesAnother great view and angle. Now I see what you meant by resident friend II. As in second shot. Still there must be more "friends" hopping around. Nice shot. 3 Sep 2008 2:27am @Barbara: We had seen two young ones earlier this summer, and this may be one of them - have no idea where they 'hide out'. |
