'Cousins' sharing a picnic table on a hot summer day in New Jersey.

Great dog portrait.

Kent from Kvänum, Sweden

Very beautiful dogs. We will buy a dog and we look after what we want. But it is difficult because I think all is fine. Have a good day

23 Aug 2008 5:59am

@Kent: Thank you, Kent, for your comment. We wanted a small dog and bought the Maltese/Poodle mix, called a Malti-Poo and love her temperament. Rosie on the right, our granddaughter's dog, is a Papillon (one of a breed of toy spaniels having a long, silky coat and large, erect ears held so that they resemble the wings of a butterfly). She, however, thinks she's a Great Dane!

Barbara from Florida, United States

Ha, ha! I love it. What a wonderful image, they both look happy and possibly had their hair done for the visit.
The clarity is excellent, the green is a nice compliment to the colors of the dogs. The shot was framed well.
Thanks for a morning chuckle.

23 Aug 2008 10:54am

@Barbara: I'm laughing over the cell phones popping popcorn ... and what are you doing up so early? <giggle>
Thanks for your comment on the dogs; they are so funny together. They only see each other once in a while, yet all we have to do is mention Rosie's name and we get a rise out of Belle.

l.a. from Cape Canaveral, United States

Oh my goodness...what cuties! The fact that you got them to stay still long enough, both at the same time, amazing. lol They look so comfortable, and like they are so happy to pose and have their picture taken.

23 Aug 2008 2:14pm

@l.a.: They're both staying still because they don't want to fall, I think. Neither of them is big enough to jump down from the table. It was rather hot, so I didn't leave them there very long.

Viewfinder from Bradenton, United States

Bella is impressed by these two. She would love to make it a threesome on that tabletop, but she is a bit larger than these two. But she really enjoys small dogs, and I suspect wishes sometimes to be a lap dog herself. Very nice "family" portrait of these two cousins.

23 Aug 2008 2:26pm

@Viewfinder: Bella could probably have sat alongside the table and gotten into the photo! ;D
Bridget's Rosie weighs about 8 lbs. and Belle is 11 lbs., each of them very definitely a lap dog! These two are so much fun to have together; it doesn't matter how far apart our visits, they both remember each other.

Lorraine from Canada

lol adorable, how sweet they are, perfect duo and I laughed out loud at Barb's comment and Vf's , wonderful

23 Aug 2008 2:57pm

@Lorraine: Thanks, Lorraine; I wish we could hop into the van and take off for NJ right now! It's a long ride for Belle, but she loves seeing her 'cousin' Rosie! ;D

Michael Skorulski from Cigel, Slovakia

I like their happy faces and the excellent detail of the image, Judy. Very cute.

23 Aug 2008 4:26pm

@Michael Skorulski: Thanks, Michael ... I'm sitting here remember how hot is was that day, but it wasn't any 40C like you had in Bahrain!

Marie-Hélène Ammor from Casablanca/Paris, Morocco

Beautiful !!They seem to pose ,quite happy !!

23 Aug 2008 4:28pm

@Marie-Hélène Ammor: Thank you, Marie ... they were good for me!

Barbara from Florida, United States

You can ask the cat what I was doing up so early, she is spoiled now. Dogs like Belle or Rosie don't look like they would do aerobics on the bed at 4 or 5 a.m. They look so well behaved.

23 Aug 2008 4:37pm

@Barbara: Ha, ha ........... well, if you'd been a fly on the wall you would have known that the traveling thunder in the night and early morning had Belle up on the bed, down on the floor, up on the bed, down on the floor ... shall I continue? <grin> She was quiet from 6:00 - 7:30, though!

dobbino from Cape Town, South Africa

The expressions on their faces tell one that it's hot! Reminds me so much of one of ours who absolutely loved the heat, irrespective of the fact that she would almost exhaust herself with her panting! Lovely image.

23 Aug 2008 7:04pm

@dobbino: Thank you ..... and because of the heat, I did NOT keep there any longer than necessary to get this shot!

Observing from West Cheshire, United Kingdom

Aren't they cute... posing for their portrait. Lovely photo.

23 Aug 2008 8:21pm

@Observing: Thanks, Mike!

Marion from Nanaimo, BC, Canada

Very cute Judy. They are very adorable "cousins" I thought Belle was the "auntie". What good girls. See we did take out laptop with us and after a very busy three fun filled days I thought I would take a peek. The Gaither's concert was awesome. Started at seven and ended at eleven twenty with a twenty minute break. Talk about getting your dollars worth.

24 Aug 2008 4:45am

@Marion: Hi there, traveler ... you're not supposed to be 'working' when you're on vacation! <grin> But then, this isn't work, is it!!!
I'm thrilled you had a good concert and you're right - you surely got your money's worth!
Enjoy the rest of your time away and FYI, we don't go way for another 3 weeks!

Francesc B. from région parisienne, France

Beautiful friends. A lovely portrait.

24 Aug 2008 9:04pm

@Francesc B.: Thank you ... they really are friends; they just don't get to see each other very often.

Ken McCoy from Orlando-Daytona Beach, FL, United States

This is so cute I can hardly stand it! What patience you must have to get them to hold still at just the right time :)

25 Aug 2008 3:24am

@Ken McCoy: Ken, thank you, but the funny thing is, I didn't have to do ANYTHING to get them to hold still.
They are both small dogs and were frightened to be there, too high from them to get down by themselves.
I lifted them each down after about one minute. ;D

Eleftheria! from Athens, Greece

This is LOVELY!
Hello from hot Athens! :-)
