PS: Do you see the small pot of geraniums near the left edge? I just realized that is the photo I posted on May 31st.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog; your comments are greatly appreciated. I apologize for not getting to all of your posts. I will visit as time permits.

Marion from Nanaimo, BC, Canada

What a busy harbour. Makes me want to go for a sail.

19 Aug 2008 5:14am

@Marion: It isn't really a harbor, but a small boat club along the river, where people rent space to store their boats.
The photo reminds me of our wonderful years of sailing and I'd like to go too!

Lorraine from Gatineau, Canada

You must always be yourself, JUDY! ;) love this photo, it does look like a terrific touristic attraction (may be why my self-conscious brought Barb out, as she does those remarkably well, as well, well, let me check back, yup I called you Judy!

19 Aug 2008 9:49am

@Lorraine: I love it, LORRAINE ... you are so funny! Thank you as always for your meaningful (and sometimes comical) comments! Hugs, Judy

tyan from Singapore, Singapore

it is a haven alright!Too bad i havent been on a sailboat like this before! Is it nice, have you been on one?:)

19 Aug 2008 2:20pm

@tyan: Yes, Ty, to answer you question, I've been on lots of sailboats; we owned four different ones over the years. We also sailed on friends' larger boats, one from Cape Cod back to our home port in Connecticut and another time from CT to Saint John in New Brunswick, Canada.
I've just recently pulled some memory shots out of my archives and will post them at some point.

leslie from norwich, United Kingdom

Reminds me a harbour here in the UK. But our weather is not all ways as good.

19 Aug 2008 2:48pm

@leslie: Yes, we probably have more sunny days than you, but sailing can be done in all kinds of weather. It's just more fun with the sun out! ;D

Michael Skorulski from Cigel, Slovakia

A beautiful composition, Judy. I like the clanking of the rigging at such places.

19 Aug 2008 2:57pm

@Michael Skorulski: Thanks, Michael and the rigging sounds are like music to my ears!

Illuci from Hurdegaryp, Netherlands

Great to see the contrast between fore- and background (wish I could choose one of those boats :) - the aerial pictures are indeed incredible!! I added the site to my favorites, and was happy to see that my little country got also attention (tulip fields in Lisse). These kind of pictures are alas not possible for simple amateurs like us. BTW I get the butterflies in my garden by having a buddleia-shrub in it, they come by the dozens!

19 Aug 2008 3:07pm

@Illuci: Thank you, Illuci, for your nice comment. I'm glad you liked the boats!
I'm happy you looked at those aerial photos - they truly are incredible. I remember that one of the tulip fields in Lisse ... just beautiful.
Thanks too, for the name of your butterfly shrub!!!

MaryB from Staffordshire, United Kingdom

Wonderful repetition in the posts and masts, it looks such a beautiful place Judy :)

@MaryB: Thank you, Mary, it really is lovely!

Viewfinder from Bradenton, United States

I like the orderliness of the bulkhead, with the random angles and shapes of the boats in the background. Something about the "feng sui" of this composition really works for me. Do photos have "feng sui?"

19 Aug 2008 7:32pm

@Viewfinder: I don't know if photos "have" 'feng sui' but I'll bet they can capture it. ;D
Your comment made me realize the geraniums on the left end of the dock were the ones I posted on May 31st.

Observing from West Cheshire, United Kingdom

What a beautiful place to live near..... wonderful image.

19 Aug 2008 8:43pm

@Observing: I agree ... I wish we could live there, near our daughter!

PS: I went to see a few of your photos on Webshots also, and left you a comment there.

l.a. from Cape Canaveral, United States
