@tyan: Thanks, Ty. ... This the corner of our son-in-law's garden shed.

Lorraine from Gatineau, Canada

It takes so little to add total charm to a simple home, beautiful find Judy :)

@Lorraine: These comments urged me to to add a link to an earlier shot - if you find a minute - take a peek. ;D

Betty from New Jersey, United States

@Betty: *Smile* ... this is on our son-in-law's garden shed - I added a link to an earlier shot. ;D

Tracey from White Hall, United States

So country. This house would fit nicely here in the boondocks and cornfields that I call home. This picture makes me smile!

@Tracey: Thanks, Tracey ... it's actually our son-in-law's garden shed.
(I added a link to an earlier shot of it.)

@MJ: Thanks, MJ, for today's and yesterday's comments. I 'lost' yesterday somehow. ;D

Chris from South Jersey, United States

Great composition Judy - I love your use of "rule of thirds" and the wonderful colors and shadows. Really nice image...

8 Aug 2008 3:33pm

@Chris: I'm smiling, because that 'rule of thirds' wasn't in my head when I cropped the shot, but I'm happy it worked! ;D
I've added a link to the caption to explain where this really is.

Marion from Nanaimo, BC, Canada

Love it Judy. I was taking a picture the other night and thinking "rule of thirds, rule of thirds, am I getting the rule of thirds right?" This has such a homey lovely feel to it. Right now Ray and Richard (our brother-in-law) are putting up our shed and it has two little windows on either side of the door and when I saw the first picture of this shed (you know the one with Charlie entering it and ignoring the three drowning girls), I decided that somehow I would attach window boxes and plant geraniums and petunias and maybe even some lobelia in them. Thanks Judy, we can always rely on you for a nice sunny, spirit lifting picture.

8 Aug 2008 5:23pm

@Marion: I know what you mean about questioning the 'rule of thirds'. I've read differing views, so I'm never quite clear on it.
Susan makes sure each summer, to find something for those shed window boxes and they always are so inviting.
I'm happy you enjoyed the photo, Marion.

PS: It is so beastly hot and humid, that I'm pulling from archives.

Ina from Krugersdorp, South Africa

Nice composition, great colors :)

@Ina: Thanks, Ina.

Barbara from Florida, United States

It is like those charming country images you see on posters or in the gift shops. Love the colors and the plant adds beautiful color.
Don't think I didn't admire this "shed" when I viewed your earlier posting of it. Where the girls held their breath backwards to humor Charlie.
I love this shed and it's cute little windows that push out and the wonderful paint job.
Great shot Judy.

9 Aug 2008 3:28am

@Barbara: Thanks, Barb ... Charlie loves his garden shed and makes very good use of it. I'm happy it's brought some smiles from both images. ;D

PS: And we love our son-in-law too!

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

Home-like feeling, almost an invitation! I love the way you made use of the light and shadow!

9 Aug 2008 5:32am

@Japanalia: Thank you, Gabriela ... Susan does a nice job in their yard with flowers.
Thanks too, for the comment on the Seagull - I agree, a bit angry looking in the eyes.
