~Kylie~ from Richmond, United States

before I even opened this... what came to mind was "well hello there cheeky boy"... then I saw your title :o), a great capture Anna, so much personality caught in this image!

30 Jul 2008 1:31am

@~Kylie~: Thanks, Kylie - two great minds on the same track. <grin>

Rich from Gray, United States

Very nice! I cannot get my (new) cockatoo to sit still for a picture.

30 Jul 2008 1:34am

@Rich: As you could probably tell, Anna isn't a young bird. Cockatoos are a bit more animated, I expect.

Tracey from White Hall, United States

So cute! Quite the interesting body position! Lovely details in the highlights!

30 Jul 2008 1:42am

@Tracey: Thanks, Tracey!

Viewfinder from Bradenton, United States

A wonderful little feathered soul. Bella would like to meet her.

30 Jul 2008 1:44am

@Viewfinder: I think she is really a people (and pet) soul - I wonder if she came to the shelter because her owner could no longer take care of her.

tyan from Singapore, Singapore

like the pink tinge on her feathers,yes she look so human with that adorable tilt of head:)

30 Jul 2008 2:13am

@tyan: Me too ... and today's is even better, I think. ;D

Michael Skorulski from Cigel, Hong Kong

This is very comical. I love the expression, color and detail. Your presentation is excellent too, Judy.

30 Jul 2008 2:53am

@Michael Skorulski: Thank you, Michael. She is the kind that makes everyone want to take her home.

Steven from Chicagoland, United States

I had to do a double take to see which way was "right side up." ;-)
Great detail captured in this photo with its feathers and reflection in its eye.

30 Jul 2008 3:32am

@Steven: Thank you, Steven; she's such a willing subject!

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

These birds are fascinating! I think I'd stand there and really try to make a conversation with her! She has such a funny face! (I had to twist my neck,too!) The capture is a pleasure and the presentation GREAT!!!

31 Jul 2008 11:53am

@Japanalia: Thank you, Gabriela for this comment and the next one for Anna. She is a lovely bird and I'm sure was someone's well-loved pet before she was given to the shelter. As for the earlier ownership of the Redhead, I wonder what mistreatment might have befallen him.

Barbara from Florida, United States

I am in awe of this and next image of this cockatoo. Really Judy they are both incredible images, clarity and color is beautiful and so is this cockatoo who looks rather curious and interested in what you are doing.
I will have to check out this place Boyette's Grove.

31 Jul 2008 4:12pm

@Barbara: Thanks, Barb - I was able to get pretty close and was rewarded with these shots a couple of years ago. I'll show you on a map where Boyette's is.
