For Chris...

Posted by Judy (Brooksville, Florida, United States) on 21 July 2008 in Sport & Recreation and Portfolio.

Dear Chris, here is a horizontal view of last Saturday's image.

This shows the setting where the umbrellas sat, yet discretely doesn't reveal the scantily clad foreign visitors!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog; your comments are greatly appreciated. I apologize for not getting to all of your posts. I will visit as time permits.

I love it Judy. Makes a person wonder where the owner's of the umbrellas and the clothes are?? The colors and the composition are wonderful and I would love to visit this beach with a friend of mine. ;D

@Marion: The owners had to be in the water or walking the beach, I guess.
Come on down.........it's only 5,313 km = 3.10685 mi. ;(

Lorraine from Gatineau, Canada

Wow, would they mind if I just slid under the umbrella, terrific photo Judy :)

@Lorraine: Squeeze in alongside Mike and me ... we'll make room! ;D

Chris from South Jersey, United States

Thanks Judy - I do love those umbrellas (especially the colors against the ocean), but I think I prefer the one from last week (I know, I am never happy!). I like the chairs in the previous one - it was a bit more inviting.....Sometimes it is hard to pick out the best pictures of what we take - isn't it?

21 Jul 2008 11:10am

@Chris: You're welcome, Chris. When you spoke of more space around the umbrellas, this shot offered that, but the people has moved their chairs off into the water to the right. I think I like the chairs shot better too. ;D

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

Now I know what the parasols were chatting about......the scantiness, of course!!! WE, the viewers have no chance to see, the scantily dressed have built a wall of clothes......we may only imagine....

21 Jul 2008 11:16am

@Japanalia: Giggling.....you are probably correct, Gabriela ... and if I'd have taken a shot of the people, it would have had to go into the Adult section - not fit for the eyes of us here.

Some people should look at themselves in a mirror after shedding their clothes ... egads!

Viewfinder from Bradenton, United States

Very nice pair of shots. I like today's very much, but found the closer-in crop of the previous one a bit more interesting. Of course, I get to see stuff like this all the time like most coastal Floridians, so the overall beach scene is familiar. Even so I never get tired of all the colors. And in both, the colors are captured quite well. Nice one(s) Judy.

21 Jul 2008 11:29am

@Viewfinder: Thanks a lot. I agree with Chris, that sometimes it's hard to decide which of your shots of something should be the one you post. I liked the cropped version that I used Saturday and then when Chris asked about I decided to post the more 'standard' shot (for we Floridians).

I hope Bella has a good day. Belle's home alone this morning because Mike is involved with VBS here at church and i'm manning the office.

Terre Mavix Chartrand from Kitchener, Canada

I actually prefer this to the other umbrella shot. The other one has that mass that is out of focus in the front which I find to be distracting. This has a softer focus in some areas, but the depth of field is a bit deeper. In all, I think this one communicates more than the other. There is the impact of the deserted chairs in the other, but the additional crispness of this one pulls me in more.

Good shot. Good colours.

@Terre Mavix Chartrand: Thank you for your comment. I'm glad now that I posted both shots.
