Ecclesiastes 8:15
"So I commend the enjoyment of life, because nothing is better for a man under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany him in his work all the days of the life God has given him under the sun."

We're home from our visit to Georgia and the upcoming photos will be a travelogue of sorts.
My computer was serviced following a short circuit in a power supply to my accessory hard drive.
It is scary when SMOKE comes out of your tower!
Windows 7 is now installed and I am facing the learning curve! :D

Marion from Nanaimo, BC, Canada

So beautiful Judy. Love the framing and the scripture. It's a wonder the ocean isn't boiling. The sun looks like it is sitting right in it.

20 Jul 2008 6:16am

@Marion: Thanks, Marion - it was a gorgeous sunset even though we didn't have the clouds that normally make for the most beautiful ones.

Kent from Sweden

Wonderful sunset. The sun looks like a fire ball floating around in the water

20 Jul 2008 8:21am

@Kent: Thank you, Kent - I appreciate your comment.

Cia from Kvänum, Sweden

Wonderful sunset and picture

Betty from New Jersey, United States

Incredible sunset, Marion... love the framing. Well done!

20 Jul 2008 10:13am

@Betty: No problem, Betty ... we're all getting pretty familiar here!
Glad you enjoyed the sunset shot and framing.

Betty from New Jersey, United States

Sorry, I meant Judy.

Observing from West Cheshire, United Kingdom

A fireball it is...! wonderfully captured.

20 Jul 2008 11:00am

@Observing: Thank you so much!

Lorraine from Gatineau, Canada

Oh Yes He Is, and your one of His artists obviously, love how you double-framed this, it's spectacular, how did you do it?

20 Jul 2008 11:22am

@Lorraine: I was there when He painted it - I snapped the shutter.
Glad you like the frame - some do and some don't.

PS: For the frame I cropped the photo, gave it a border, copied it to the clipboard, went back to the orig., darkened it using curves, then pasted back a new layer of the original crop! Got it? ;D

Michael Skorulski from Cigel, Slovakia

A beautiful photo and an excellent presentation, Judy.

20 Jul 2008 11:34am

@Michael Skorulski: Thank you, Michael - I appreciate that!

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

You are exceeding with this shot all my expectations! The photo is already outstanding, but the presentation makes it STUNNING!!! My compliments, Judy!

20 Jul 2008 11:59am

@Japanalia: Thank you so much, Gabriela.
Due to the low light, the photo was too grainy and I felt the darker border helped soften it a bit.

Viewfinder from Bradenton, United States

Judy! What an amazing photo. I love the frame and the beautiful warm colors. Florida at its best. God "showing off" a bit of the beauty of creation. Super photo!

20 Jul 2008 12:18pm

@Viewfinder: Thank you so much, Glenn. As we stood there waiting for the sun to drop (earth to rotate), it seemed it might not be very special. But all of a sudden, God in his infinite wisdom, turned everything so red it was gorgeous, even though there weren't any clouds, which often add to the beauty.

Chris from South Jersey, United States

What a great capture - really beautiful to capture the sun like this....
I'll be honest, I am not sure if I like the frame or not, but I know I like the shot - wonderful....

20 Jul 2008 12:39pm

@Chris: Thanks, Chris. The low light and rapid change of the colors, left me too surprised to change my settings, so the shot is quite grainy. Darkening the photo and layering a crop of the original color over it, seemed to soften some of that grain for me.

PS: Tomorrow be sure to see another shot of those two colorful umbrellas - just for you! ;D

Tracey from United States

this is one of the reasons i love it so much down here. great shot.

20 Jul 2008 5:41pm

@Tracey: Thanks, Tracey - me too!

@cute poison: If you were on the beach with us that night, you could have done it also - I'm sure!

Barbara from Florida, United States

Living here in the sunshine state I have seen many wonderful sunsets but I must admit this one is superior. The way you captured and (layer) framed the image is outstanding. Very beautiful, Judy.

21 Jul 2008 4:51pm

@Barbara: Thank you, Barb. I was surprised myself when I got home to see what the camera (and I) had captured! ;D
