Have a seat...

Posted by Judy (Brooksville, Florida, United States) on 19 July 2008 in Sport & Recreation and Portfolio.

This was taken at Pine Island, just 20 minutes from our home - a wonderful place at all times of day. The late day light added to this capture; I hope you enjoy it.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog; your comments are greatly appreciated. I apologize for not getting to all of your posts. I will visit as time permits.

Marion from Nanaimo, BC, Canada

So colorful. Did you shoo the owner's of these beach chairs and umbrellas away so you could get such a good photo??? I'm kidding. Love this image Judy.

@Marion: How did you know, Marion? <grin>

I liked the colors very much but you'll have to read what a wrote to Chris about the crop! ;D

PS: Oh, I was mistaken - the funny comment comes with another view on Monday!

Kent from Sweden

Well, there is a beautiful summer picture. Many wonderful colors of the umbrellas. Sure makes you feel to go to the beach

tyan from Singapore, Singapore

wow, very pretty umbrellas considering they are public?Love the colours, cant find any of these at Singapore Beaches..:)

19 Jul 2008 7:59am

@tyan: The umbrellas were privately owned and not long after I shot this, the owners pulled them from the sand and left.

Betty from New Jersey, United States

How I wish I was there! Beautiful, colorful umbrellas and beautiful light. I can look at this photo all day! Well done, Judy.

19 Jul 2008 10:54am

@Betty: Thank you, Betty - there's another coming on Monday, based on a comment from Chris.
You might chuckle at my response to him...

Chris from South Jersey, United States

really nice Judy - I love the evening light also, and the bit of foreground sand adds to the feeling of isolation. My only suggestion would be to have a bit more space around the umbrellas. Very pretty shot.

19 Jul 2008 11:28am

@Chris: I hear you, Chris, and I have a horizontal shot, with someone's belongings off to the side.
When I cropped it to the umbrellas I thought I liked it better, but I'll go back and look.
I appreciate your comment!

Barbara from Florida, United States

This is one of those poster images, one with a wide matting and framed. Great composition and colorful umbrella's. The early evening capture presented wonderful light and shadows.

19 Jul 2008 1:34pm

@Barbara: Thank you, Barb ... how complimentary. It is a tight crop and based on Chris' comment, I've posted another view for Monday. I need some computer work done and it may be next week, so I may be in 'withdrawal' for a few days.

Lorraine from Canada

Oh Gosh...should cover a tourism magazine, it's so summery and fun and lovely and beautiful and colourful and BIG BRAVO ;) glad Belle is ok and snuggling on your feet ...

19 Jul 2008 3:01pm

@Lorraine: Oh, Lorraine, between you and Marion, I'm going to have a swelled head! <grin>

Thanks re: your comment on Belle - right now she's stretched out on the rug next to me.

Observing from West Cheshire, United Kingdom

The colored parasols and the fine sand are great, is this an inland water? Cool shot.!

19 Jul 2008 11:01pm

@Observing: No, this is not inland water, but instead, an inlet off the Gulf of Mexico.

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

The garroulous parasols are having a good time! I wonder what are they chatting about.....Cheerful composition!!!

20 Jul 2008 12:00pm

@Japanalia: You are funny ........ but I'm game; what do YOU think they were chatting about? ;D

akarui from Kagoshima, Japan
