Looking over a dune, we saw evidence of someone's 'toy' - and the water beyond.

Like Michael said in his comment, this is the promise of adventure! I like the sky very much and the glimpse of the ocean beyond the dune.

@Peter Miller: It made us wonder also, but we had our dog with us and none were allowed on the beach.......so we didn't see what type of small boat it was.

I love the composition here Judy. Intense clouds, beautiful dunes and great clarity in the image. Michael said it the best that it invokes adventure.

@Observing: As I wrote on another comment, we had our dog w/us and they weren't allowed on the beach, so we didn't get o see the boat itself.

What a wonderful composition. Adventure, mystery and beauty all rolled into one. The clouds are gorgeous and so are the colors. Belle did you a favor not letting you go any further because this is a gorgeous shot. What an eye you have Judy.

@Marion: Thank you, Marion. I find it interesting to let my heart lead me to photos - then let my eye see what it can in the viewfinder. As I saw this, I could imagine the wind blowing against the tiny facial hairs on my cheeks - SNAP; captured for posterity! *smile*

I love the feeling of mystery with this picture. It leaves me wanting to peek over the dune to see more of the treasure on the other side.

Great composition Judy - the mast hidden behind the dunes asks a question and the threatening clouds and hint of water are just great......

I like the way the dune hides all but the mast of this sailboat; there's more adventure around the next bend kind of feel to it. Especially nice is the sea oats' vertical pattern at an angle with the mast. And the clouds give it quite the dramatic overall effect. It's a keeper, for sure.
