Happy birthday to your cheery husband. That's quite the lobster he is tucking into.

13 Jul 2008 5:10am

@Michael Skorulski: Thank you, Michael and you're right; hie is a cheerful soul.
That lobster was a 'big boy' ... but the tail meat was saved for another meal! ;D

Ina from Krugersdorp, South Africa

What a giant lobster! Looks delicious - happy birthday to your hubby too :)

13 Jul 2008 7:47am

@Ina: They had little ones but Mike decided on larger ones - two-meal size. :D
You only turn 75 once in a lifetime - if you're lucky - this was his/our treat!

Observing from West Cheshire, United Kingdom

Happy birthday Mike... you're looking great. I see Judy has spoiled you with that lobster ;)

13 Jul 2008 8:44am

@Observing: Hee, hee ... it was his choice and he opted for the two-meal size! ;D

tyan from Singapore, Singapore

13 Jul 2008 9:36am

@tyan: Yes, he and his mate were both cooked, Ty - we had a feast - and leftovers for salad too!

Mike is very healthy, thank God, after 75 years. We feel truly blessed!
Tell your hubby that when you get to be 75 you get to choose your meal, Ty ... ;D

Lorraine from Gatineau, Canada

Well Happy Birthday Handsome, good photo Judy Honey and I won't talk about the poor lobster who emits an high-pitch scream when he's dropped in hot boiling water, so sorry, I'll never bring it up again and I confess that I have my moments where I will have some poor animal of the sea or the land
75? Tyan said 75...that just can't be

13 Jul 2008 10:06am

@Lorraine: You are a riot...............and if I had heard any "high-pitched scream" you can bet we would have fainted!!! ;D

Are you a vegetarian, Lorraine?

Lorraine from Gatineau, Canada

Oh Yeah, i just read the title, sorry I got sidetracked by the lobster...Good Heavens, I hope I look that good at 60, well except for the manly part

13 Jul 2008 10:07am

@Lorraine: Giggling............yes, he is 75; his family has good genes. It's me that has to be careful!

Betty from New Jersey, United States

He looks very happy to be digging into that lobster! Happy Birthday!

13 Jul 2008 11:47am

@Betty: Thank you, Betty ....... he was happy as a kid in a mud puddle! ;D

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

Dear Mike, your smile hasn't changed a bit along the years! It is as warm and trusting as it was in the previous shot Judy presented a few days back! This means......your heart is young! I'm glad you enjoyed your birthday!

13 Jul 2008 12:04pm

@Japanalia: Mike thanks you, for your kind words. You're right, Gabriela, his smile (and his heart) are warm and trusting, just as they were 49 years ago when we married. I'm hanging onto him; that's for sure!

Chris from South Jersey, United States

Happy Birthday Mike - glad you enjoyed your lobster. I know if I had lobster for my birthday it would be a real treat!!

13 Jul 2008 12:31pm

@Chris: Mike says thanks, Chris ... and it was a very special treat for us.
While pricey, it was much more reasonable to cook them ourselves, so that's what we did, even though some think we were cruel. ;D

Earnest from Oklahoma, United States

A smile brighter than the sunshine outside... a wonderful photo!

13 Jul 2008 12:47pm

@Earnest: Thanks, Earnest ... he's a keeper!

Barbara from Florida, United States

Now that's the (Happy) life, that big grin says it is a HAPPY Birthday.
On the lanai served a fabulous meal by your loving wife.
Happy 75th Mike, and as it was said you look young at heart.
A wonderful capture of a special day.

13 Jul 2008 3:53pm

@Barbara: Mike says, "Thank you, Barbara."
We thought it might be too warm outside but with a fan and a little butter dripping off our elbows (not really), it was a good thing!
We saved the tails for salad, which we're finally going to eat tonight!

Tracey from New Port Richey Florida, United States

what a great way to enjoy your birthday. great shot.

13 Jul 2008 11:21pm

@Tracey: Thank you, Tracey - it was delicious, as was the lobster salad tonight!

Viewfinder from Bradenton, United States

A great birthday portrait! A wonderful feast, and a banquet of love. Happy 75th, Mike. And many blessings to come. Yesterday's lobster gave its life for a most worthy cause.

14 Jul 2008 1:06am

@Viewfinder: Ohhhhhhhhhhh, "gave its life" .......... ouch! ;D
Perhaps we enjoyed the lobster more, for having gone through the cooking process...

Mike says thanks for the birthday wishes!

Lorraine from Gatineau, Canada

Oh tell me about it, hair's getting greyer, my hum voluptuous shape is spreadin' and droppin', I wish I could say I'm a vegetarian, but I'm only 95% and you can't really be 95% you have to be a full 100. so I'm a carnivore with guilt ;)

14 Jul 2008 9:27am

@Lorraine: You are too funny!!!
Well if you're 95% vegetarian, you're 60+% ahead of ME! I like fish and meat with my veggies too much to cut them out. I cut WAY down on red meat and the doctor complained because my iron was low. "Go home and eat steak," he said. Can't win for losing!

MaryB from Staffordshire, United Kingdom

A wonderful portrait of the Birthday Boy, and his special meal :)
A very handsome young man you have there Judy.

14 Jul 2008 5:22pm

@MaryB: Thanks, Mary ... he's been 'mine' for nearly 49 years ... I'm keeping him! <grin>

rajalekshmy from Plano, United States
