@Michael Skorulski: Thank you very much, Michael.

Marion from Nanaimo, BC, Canada

Very beautiful feathers. Such exquisite detail that you have captured here. Do we get to see the whole bird? and how did you get so close to Mr. Peacock?

19 Jun 2008 5:17am

@Marion: I do have photos of the whole bird, but at a distance. ;(
He came to a fence near the entrance to the park, where some of the workers feed them, so this one was hanging around looking for a few crackers. I looked down over the fence to get these shots.

Lorraine from Gatineau, Canada

Peacocks always take me by surprise by their Grace and Beauty, who could ever doubt Spiritual creation?

@Lorraine: ABSOLUTELY, Lorraine - and these intricate variations display pure WONDER for me!

3 incredibly different feather patterns. I like how you framed the shot. They are a walk piece of feather art.

Viewfinder from Bradenton, United States

For me, peacock feathers are an example of God's extravagance in creation; he spares no details in creating beauty - colors, form, textures, sounds, function, and yes in some of his creatures, personality. I put in a Bella update at my site since you posted; thank you for making the connection between my posted image today and prayers for our sweet girl.

19 Jun 2008 6:18pm

@Viewfinder: This is the first time I've had the chance to be this close for photos and was more than amazed when I saw my photos on the PC. Of course full-sized they are even more miraculous.

PS: I left you an updated short note on Bella on your posted image, VF.
