Fiona the Ladybug

Wrapped in Nana's towel and wearing Nana's garden clogs, Fiona was posing after getting out of the pool!

Today would have been my mom's 93rd birthday, but she's been gone 30 years. How she would have loved Fiona.

Ah, so this is the ladybug seen in your recent flower photo. : ) I'm the grandma of a 5-year-old. My mother passed away ten years ago, and I share your sorrow at the loss of a wonderful woman - and the loss of what we know would have been a precious relationship. Your "bug" is beautiful.

@Wizened Eye: We grandmothers have to stick together! I tried to find your blog but perhaps it isn't an AM3 site?

Thank you for the comment re: losing our mothers, but sadly on Mar. 22nd. we lost our middle child - our eldest son (45) in a freak motor scooter accident and it is much more painful.

There are much more beautiful photos of Fiona in my 'portfolio' if you look there; she was clowning around in this one. ;D
