Confederate Jasmine

Posted by Judy (Brooksville, Florida, United States) on 16 May 2008 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

We've had no rain, so the blossoms have lasted a full month.
This is the first time this has ever happened for us.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog; your comments are greatly appreciated. I apologize for not getting to all of your posts. I will visit as time permits.

A nice shot Judy. Too bad we couldn't share the wealth, I mean rain. Friday it is supposed to go to 29 celcius here (about 80F). Sweltering in my books. This looks like a type of fresia. What is it??

@Marion: I know now, that you were hotter in BC than we were here in Florida - CRAZY!!!

I tracked down your jasmine pic! This year it did not blossom as densely as last year. We had lots of shower this spring. Was that the reason?

@moonstruck: Maybe the rain hampered your blossoms; I'm not sure.
I checked back and now it is actually five weeks since the jasmine has been fully in bloom. The petals are falling now but yesterdays rain - mostly gentle - hasn't seemed to bother it very much. Perhaps it was just a good year here in west-central Florida. ???
